Default Sitcoms that went downhill when characters hit puberty

Which of the characters going through puberty had the most effect on the sitcom they starred in?

Blossom, not that the show was ever that good to begin with.

Growing Pains: When the kids grew up and they got Chrissy, which made me throw up.

The Cosby Show especially when Rudy hit puberty. The plug should had been pulled after season 5.

The Brady Bunch. Never was a great show but it was apparent when Peter's voice changed and you can hear it in a number of episodes.

Different Strokes. Todd Bridges was another one whose voice you can hear change.

Growing Pains. It was an entertaining show the first four seasons. When Ben hit puberty and Chrissy came along the show went steadily downhill from there.

Family Ties. Jennifer Keaton was not a good character after puberty struck her. With the show being focused too much on Michael J. Fox she, along with Meredith Baxter Birney and Michael Gross, was pushed to the sidelines. The first three years Jennifer was a good character as the youngest child.

Cool

I vote none of the above. I think the series that suffered most by its child star hitting puberty was Leave it to Beaver. It was cute when Jerry Mathers was 7 years old, but when he was 13 and the storylines remained much the same it was sad and pathetic. They let Wally age gracefully and face more grown-up issues(driving, first job etc.) but they tried to keep Beaver a little kid. This despite the fact that Jerry Mathers voice had already changed!! Near the end of the series they tried to make up for Beavers fading cuteness by adding a younger nieghbour boy to the cast.(A precurser of The Brady Bunch's Cousin Oliver and the Cosby Shows Olivia) Even the producers finally admitted that like it or not Jerry Mathers was growing up.

Why, I'm surprised no one's added the obvious:

DENNIS THE MENACE-Jay North beocming an adolescent was a REAL menace to watch.

Yeah, that was painful. A tall skinny pre-teen in overalls. The horror, the horror...

Kevin in The Wonder Years.I like the show but, when he hit puberty,it never was the same

Jennifer in Family Tie.That's boring watching her grow up,she never was a big part of the show and also when the little boy(Alex's yougest version) came along that was finish for me.

I got to agree about Rudy of The Cosby Show. The show was never the same and also because of Sondra's twins.Everything about Sondra and Alvin was very boring.

Cool

Sorry but I disagree on all of them except The Brady Bunch. The Brady Bunch got boring and annoying after awhile but all the others were great when the kids grew up and the new ones came around.

Only Episode Jennifer annoyed me on Family Ties was when she decided to go all Valley girl to fit in I saw the rerun of it. That kinda talk annoys me but other then that I enjoyed them all except The Brady Bunch that Oliver was truly annoying IMHO.

Its ashame there isn't too many Sitcoms or dramas now because of reality tv now thats annoying sorry but its my opinion and people have every right to agree or disagree with me.Mel
