I guess after hearing it for so many years it's just hard to listen to. They could have made some changes to the opening credits in the later seasons.

yeah I guess it can be annoying after all that time. Did you know the theme song for Fresh Prince sounds like another of Will's songs he had out before the show started? The music is identical just the words are different

Yeah the opening theme is identical to the song-"Parents just don't understand"

I never tire of the theme song myself...it's one of the coolest themes ever. I remember in the early 90s when I was around 10, all of us kids at school would have contests to see who could rap the theme the best. I was one of the few who remembered all the lyrics correctly (even though my rapping sucked).

Yes it's closed to a minute long and that's way to long for a opening theme song.

Thumbs up

Really? Yeah - I LOVE the rap credits!!

Especially the very first ep - I just saw it not long ago and they showed the entire opening - I never knew before that it had been cut down - it had been even longer telling the whole story of leaving Philly. I can't handle rap, but I do like Will's stuff.

Yeah - that's the one they pulled it from. Same with Jazz and the other guys playing B-ball - they were with Will when he was a rapper. Part of the deal on taking on the show was to have the odd appearance by them and the small role for "Jazz".

White guys (and gals) can't rap!!! I like the theme so much that I try to keep up but must look ridiculous - a 44 yr old woman trying to get jiggy wit it!

It is! I remember sitting there thinking - hey - is this thing ever gonna end? I would like to get a clip of the entire thing again though just to give it another listen thru.

Thanks a lot - now you've got it running through my head again. I'm gonna have to tune into it on Nick later just to satisfy myself!
