Default what parts of the episodes on the 1st season dvd were cut out by Lifetime

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could list cuts made by Lifetime when the episodes (included on the dvd) aired on that channel? It would be very cool to know!

Thanks,

Patrick

Default DVD Cuts

A few I know are:

1.In the pilot, the whole last scene (ch. 6), was never shown. That's when Dorothy walks in the lanai with the wet newspaper, and then checks to see if Sophia is breathing using a mirror. That was the best! (Dorothy: You Never Know!)

2.In Episode 2 with the wedding, there is a part with Sophia telling the girls that Ministers target old ladies.

If I think of any more, I'll let you know.

Also, in the wedding episode, the scene with Dorothy and Rose when Rose thinks Dorothy is about to stab stan with a knife...all that is left out by lifetime.

During the episode where the house gets broken into (sorry, don't have the DVDs here with me at work!) the scene where they come in discussing drug dealers and then Blanche comes out of the kitchen covered in flour - there are several lines which I never heard before. They use the word "cocaine" at least three times, and I don't recall hearing the word at all in the Lifetime syndicated versions. I'm keeping a special eye out to see next time that episode airs - but in any case the scene is much longer on the DVD.

So glad we are talking abou how COMPLETE the DVDs are, and not the other way around.

In "On Golden Girls", when Dorothy is trying to study for an exam when David is at the house; in the Lifetime version, Sophia complains that Dorothy's pencil is bugging her at the beginning, but on the DVD, there is more to that scene in the beginning where Sophia is getting ready for bed and is making noise with hand creme containers, and tissues, and then tells Dorothy to cover her head with the pillow if she doesn't want to hear her.

Also dialogue between the characters in certain scenes in each episode has a few more lines or words in them such as the blind episode. In "The Way We Met", at the Supermarket, we see Blanche getting tabloids off the shelf that was not on Lifetime.

OVERALL, there are not many scenes that I had never seen before, between the Lifetime and the syndication edits, all scenes have been seen over the years by viewers. However, there are a few new scenes or comments that I had never seen before.

In the episode, In a Bed of Rose's, Blanche discusses the officer crunching his chips (a scene that is not on Lifetime but was in syndication) however it is followed up by a hilarious line not seen in syndication or on Lifetime, where Rose says "I don't eat chips. They fall in my bra"

In The Return of Dorothy's Ex, the whole Rose storytelling scene at the kitchen table was not seen in syndication or Lifetime.

In Adult Education, the phone conversation that the dean has with someone was cut on both syndication and Lifetime edits.

The knife scene in Guess Who's Coming to the Wedding was cut on both syndication and Lifetime edits.

The mirror holding under Sophia's nose in the Pilot was cut on both syndication and Lifetime edits.

A mouse scene with Dorothy was cut on Nice and Easy from both Lifetime and syndication.

In general, thanks to both the Lifetime and syndication edits (that is if you watched it when it was in syndication from 1990-1996), there is very little that viewers never seen before. In most cases it was a matter of extra comments during conversations.

There a scene in "The Break In" towards the end where Dorothy and Sophia are playing "Scrabble" and Sophia says "Your no good at disdam game".
