Default Oh, Kathryn

Oh, Kathryn

Cast:
Kirstie Alley as Kathryn Nichol-Peterson
Tony Danza as Jake Peterson
Danny Masterson as Danny Peterson
Mischa Barton as Alexia Peterson
Judith Light as Brenda Lucason
Suzanne Somers as Patty Peterson-LeClair

This sitcom is about a woman who is married with two kids who lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kirstie Alley plays Kathryn Peterson, who works as a travel agent with her best friend, Brenda Lucason (Judith Light) and sister-in-law, Patty LeClair (Suzanne Somers). Brenda was never married, yet dates random guys for not too long. She can't commit to one guy (at least not yet). Patty is a widow (her hubby died three days after their honeymoon), and she never remarried and has no kids. Patty and Brenda live together in one apartment (people often mistake them for lesbians, but its not true). Kathryn and her hubby, Jake Peterson (Tony Danza) have been married for 24 years now. Jake is a college professor. Jake and Kathryn's two kids are: Danny (Danny Masterson) and Alexia (Mischa Barton). Danny is 24 years old (he was born 6 months after his parents' wedding). Danny is a high school dropout, who is living with his friends in one apartment. Danny is not employed and is a big moocher. Danny and his friends's apartment is in the same building as Patty and Brenda's apartment. Also, Danny has been in and out of drug/alcohol rehab a total of five times (starting when he was 15, a year later he dropped out of school). On the other hand, Alexia is 18 years old. She is a high school senior, she is a straight-A student. She loves to talk on her cell phone, hangout with her friends, go to parties, and socialize with Kathryn, Patty, and Brenda.

Default episodes

Episodes:

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Kathryn, Brenda, and Patty all get raises by their never-in-the-office boss, Sheila (Marlo Thomas). The girls go out and celebrate at a local bar after work. Meanwhile, Jake is not happy about Alexia's constant talking on her cell phone.

Ep2: High School Affairs:
Jake's high school girlfriend, Caroline (Christine Baranski) becomes the vice principal at Alexia's high school. Tension occurs as Caroline attempts to take Jake "out for dinner", Jake turns her down. Out of spite, Caroline takes it out on Alexia-who is not enjoying Caroline's tactics.

Ep3: Brothers and Others:
Brenda learns Patty had a fling a few years ago with Brenda's brother, Joe. Meanwhile, Kathryn, Jake, and Alexia go over to Danny and his friends' apartment for a "tour". Kathryn is dissatisfied. Jake is impressed. Alexia is flattered after Danny's friend flirts with her during the visit.

Ep4: Danny Tells All:
Danny tells Kathryn, Jake, and Alexia that he got his former girlfriend pregnant. Danny's parents freak, but freak even more after learning Sarah is 7 months pregnant (and wants Danny to have full custody of the baby). Kathryn is furious and refuses to talk to Danny, Jake tries to bring his wife and son together to talk it out.

Ep5: Just Shut Yer Mouth:
Jake has to put up with the annoying neighbors, Glenn and Grace Lawrence (John Ratzenberger, Bette Midler) after Kathryn tries to make "couple" friends, instead of just Patty and Brenda-who are insulted. Ep6: No Such Luck:
Patty and Brenda go to a singles bar together, and get very few attractive men to flirt with them back. Kathryn and Jake have Danny and Sarah over for dinner one night to talk out the whole pregnancy thing. Danny's parents realizes how immature and irresponsible Danny truly is.

Ep7: Chi-Town Concert:
Alexia and her friend, Sydney (Megan Fox) plan to go to a Ashanti concert (in Chicago). The girls tell their parents the concert is in Madison (a few hours away), but it is really in Chicago. Hours after the girls are gone, Kathryn and Sydney's mom Jackie (Jamie Lee Curtis) learn about the concert being in Chicago by Patty and Brenda. So, Kathryn, Jackie, Patty, and Brenda head to Chicago to get the two lying teenagers. The women cause a scene and embarrass the girls, during the ride home, the moms give long lectures to the girls.

Ep8: Stashing It Away: Part One
Kathryn learns that Danny has decided to stash away his stash of marijuana, after learning one of his friends gets busted for possession and is carted off to jail. Kathryn is still disappointed that he is keeping it still, instead of just getting rid of it. Sarah and Alexia go shopping together (bonding) to buy baby clothes. Alexia witnesses it all, as Sarah's water breaks.

Ep9: Here It Comes: Part Two
Sarah is rushed to the hospital with an inexperienced Alexia by her side, as she goes into labor. Kathryn, Jake, Patty, and Brenda show up after getting Alexia's call. Sarah gives birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy: Nicholas Daniel Peterson "Nicky" after 13 hours of painful labor. A half hour after Sarah gave birth to his son (and 14 hours after Alexia's call), Danny decides to show up. Kathryn is royally mad (as is Sarah, not Kathryn is worse).

Ep10: Great Timing:
As Sarah takes Nicky to show her parents and relatives, Kathryn decides to give Danny a "big, long lecture" about responsibility of having a kid. Kathryn wants to know where he was and why he was so late. After many hours of not telling and not unbelievable lies, Danny confesses to his furious mom the truth : he was smoking some more drugs with his friends and "did not want to leave 'the party'.". Hearing that, Kathryn is enraged and threatens to have her call the police on him about his drug use. Danny becomes mad that his own mother would do that.
(Kathryn and Danny are the only cast members actually shown in this whole episode, some are mentioned but not shown, some are not mentioned or shown).
