Default Why didn't Major Healy become Jeannie's master?

I saw him at least twice open Jeannie's bottle and let her out. Shouldn't that have made him her master?

she did become Rogers, once in one of the black-and-white episodes. I forget what the situation was, I haven't seen the show in AGES.

WOW, funny you mention that!!

From the Pilot:

ROGER: I wish I were making this one instead of you.

TONY: Cheer up. It's your turn next.

I did an Alternate Universe fanfic where Roger WAS the one who went, not Tony. See how I interpreted it all. "Roger is Dreaming of Jeannie".

OOPS< Almost forgot, why I originally looked at this thread!

In my fanfic "Missing and Presumed," my first Drama/Angst effort (for any fandom), something like this happens.

Tony is MIA, Jeannie is in her bottle where he'd ordered her the morning of that disastrous test-flight... so in order to find Tony, Roger has to release her... thus becoming her Master. This isn't alternate-universe either, it could easily have happened, considering the dangerous nature of Roger's and Tony's work.

See what happens. It's complete in three parts.

You kidding me. Roger would've wanted everything. He didn't seem to mind that she was a genie. He would've taken advantage of that, much like myself.

Lightbulb Roger as Jeannie's master

Roger became Jeannie's master in episode 17. He had already gone out on a date with Jeannie and didn't know she was Tony's djinni. After opening the bottle, and realizing that Jeannie was a genie, Roger tricked her back into the bottle and stole her from Tony. He hid the bottle under his jacket and took it out of Tony's house.

Default that's right....

...and he temporarily became her "master" again in "Jeannie and the Kidnap Caper", so that she could save Tony from those nasty Chinese spies! Again, ONLY a temporary situation....and then, of course, there was that brief period when Roger AGAIN became Jeannie's "master" during "Have You Ever Had A Genie Hate You?", when Jeannie's rotten sister makes her ADORE Roger and hate "Master"....makes you wonder how many OTHER times Jeannie became Roger's "slave" in those stories the TV series NEVER revealed????
