Default Anyone ever see in person or meet anyone famous?

I have met some famous people in my life. If you live in the Los Angeles area and read the sports section of the LA Times, you'll probably be familiar with Bill Plaschke. Every year since 1996 (except the past two years) his family and mine get together and make Christmas cookies. He's a really cool guy. He took my father and I to a Mighty Ducks game one time.

In August and September I went to two Jeopardy tapings. Those were some of the best experiences I've ever had. I got to see Ken Jennings play and even see him break the record for the most game show winnings. I wasn't allowed to talk to him because audience members can get a contestant disqualified for speaking to him or her. My sister got to meet him and she says he's a really nice guy.

I got to talk to Johnny Gilbert (the announcer for Jeopardy) and Alex Trebek. They like to field questions from the audience. Trebek is really nerdy, not that that's a bad thing.

Those were some really famous people I've seen in person. I've also seen a lot of famous baseball players. The list could go on and on.

My dad said he met some famous people down in Nashville but I really haven't. My dad is a big Johnny Cash fan and once he had the chance to go backstage at a concert and chickened out last minute....he still regrets that mistake

My mom met the Alabama governor when she was a kid. It's one we'd rather forget... George Wallace. She has pictures of her sitting in his lap.

I've met local weathermen before... I guess they are famous.

I met Genevieve Gorder and Paige Davis from Trading Spaces (not at the same time). I also met Ashlee Simpson at WalMart.

And I could've met Clay Aiken, but we won't get into that right now.

Yes.

- Vicki Lawrence (twice)
- Joe Farrell (the dude in my avatar) I also scored two hugs from him.
- Faber Dewar - scored a hug from him too.
- Edward Walker
(The last 3 people are Trading Spaces people)
I *ALMOST* met Christi Proctor and Hildi Santo-Tomas...my family worked with Hildi and Christi worked in our house...but I missed them!
- Earl Pomeroy (ND US Rep)
- Bryan Dorgan (ND US Sen)

I *ALMOST* got to meet Ann M. Martin (she came to my city for a book signing in 97 and I didn't go. I'm still kicking myself over that) and John Ritter....if I had met him, it would have been 2.5 months before he passed away. He was doing a fundraiser at the Mall of America in MN with a few other 8SR people (Amy Davidson and Michael Spanjers) at the end of June in 2003. I was on the same floor as Hillary Clinton, but missed her. I went on a trip to Washington DC in April 2002 and we were in one of the Senate buildings and she was there...other kids in my group saw her but not me.

Various Pro football players, all of whom I can't remember, at the 1985 Pro-Bowl in Hawaii. None of them probably play anymore.

I've met many celebs but only because they were at autograph shows. A partial list:
- Joyce DeWitt (and she hugged me twice!).
- Dawn Wells (no hug from her).
- Russell Johnson
- Cindy Williams
- Penny Marshall
- Don Knotts
- Don Adams
- Pat Priest
- Johnny Crawford
- Catherine Bach
- John Schneider
- Donny Most
- Anson Williams
- Erin Moran
- Martin Milner
- Eddie Mekka

That's all I can think of right now.

I've met my favorite band ever, Hanson! Best day of my life (and Zac twice)

Oh, and not that it matters, but I've also met:

Plus One
Stacie Orrico
Rachael Lampa
Ben Barkin (he started the Great Circus parade, but he's dead now)
Ben Taylor (song of James and Carly Simon; he's a singer, too)
Cris Clobber (a comedian)

I also have a lot of other celebrity autographs I got in the mail, but I never met them like AJ Trauth, Margo Harshman, Nancy Cartwright (she signed a picture of Bart! ), Jaycie Phelps. That's all I can think of now.
