Default Question for the guys in regards to Cindy Snow

Do you agree that Cindy's Goofiness and Clumsiness made it impossible to see her as a woman with SEX APPEAL?

Ok I'm not a guy, but I highly doubt there's any man out there who would look at Cindy and go, "That goofy, clumsy personality of hers just doesn't do a thing for me." That's probably the last thing on their minds when looking at her.

To me, the clumsiness of hers was more like a baby sister or something. Cindy's legs was the most attractive thing about her, especially when she was wearing shorts.

She has nice legs, that's for sure!
As far as her goofiness; I like people who are goofy! And her being pretty just make it even better!

I think Chrissy was at her sexiest in the beginning of the show. After that, she became too much of a cartoon character.

Umm...we're talking about Cindy, not Chrissy.

excuse me, but chrissy was just BEING herself in her two last seasons of the show unlike the earlier seasons of the show. She was just "another" janet when the show started, period.

There should have been more Cindy and Jack episodes. They had great chemistry together and were very funny. Too bad Cindy and Janet wasn't believeable as friends. That's why they brought in Terri.

Actually, Jack & Cindy were believable as friends... too believable actually. The producers felt that the sexual innuendo and the 'will they, or won't they' aspect of the show had diminished with the addition of Cindy since she was too much like a sister. Cindy Snow was not the kind of character to tell sex jokes or to have sex jokes revolve around; it would've come off as false. She was innocent like Chrissy but no way near as naive.

Janet Wood was more accessible in that area, but her role of putting off Jack's advances, in particular when it came to him and Chrissy, was far too ingrained in the audience's consciousness for that to be enough to carry the show. She did play a part in it, but it wasn't nearly enough. Again, Janet wasn't naive and could smell more than half of the advances that came her way.

Chrissy was brilliant in this aspect since her sexiness, and the innuendo that came with it, revolved around her without her even being aware of it. She was truly unaware of how she looked and didn't think she was all that, which further accentuated her appeal.

The producers tried to find that in another 'Chrissy' but too much of Chrissy lied within Suzanne. Suzanne was the heart of the character and the producers thought that by putting in another blonde and writing her jokes, they could create a suitable substitute for Chrissy. It didn't happen. I know people like to trumpet about Suzanne's greed & arrogance, but this was clearly a case of the producers thinking too much of themselves. They were clearly arrogant thinking they could create another 'Chrissy' with any new face that stepped into the role.

Why it worked with Priscilla Barnes' Terri is because Jack & Terri weren't as close, especially in the beginning. They did indeed care for each other, but they were not nearly as 'brother-sister' as Jack was with Chrissy & Cindy. There was a bit of tension with Terri & Jack, which was minimal but it needed to be there for it to not be 'icky' when Jack would make advance comments towards her. Otherwise, there'd be a sense of incest going on if that underlying tension didn't exist. Jack & Terri did care for and love each other, but it was more friendly love, not family love. I'm not sure if the producers sensed this and arranged for this to happen or if it was just a lucky accident, but it worked nonetheless.

There you have it...

I like your explanation about this. It actually makes a lot of sense to me now that you worded it this way. I don't think anyone(*coughtheproducers*) should assume that a great character could be replaced like that- the magic is gone and there's no sense in trying to relive it. I'm actually glad they brought Terri in when they did(same with Cindy, although she's not my favorite blonde roomate) because the show needed a pick me up. It's the same principle with the landlords- as much as I love the Ropers, their sexual jokes were getting stale and the show needed a boost. I think Three's Company was so successful because each character brought a different aspect to the show and once it was getting old(the jokes and repetoires) it was changed around(not by choice but it happened). Overall, what I mean to say, is I love all the characters and I'm glad they stuck around as long as they did

Excuse me, but my posts aren't that long. Ever read a book?

Still, if you're being serious, all I can say is if you don't like them, then don't read them. I was offering some insight and I think it had value. Much more intelligent than some of the posts here that consist of spelling the word 'are' as 'r' and the word 'your' as 'ur'. Sorry, but that smacks of laziness. No wonder we americans appear to be the lowest in education world-wide. We look dumber and dumber as time goes on.

I'd write more but I wouldn't want to be 'too long'...
