Everyone is teh sad that a big big asteroid will crash into our beloved planet on New Year's Day.

All those other times people claimed an asteroid would crash into the planet were hoaxes! This one is real, folks.

Here's the dramatic story-- someone was on AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), and the following conversation ensued:

mrdawg222: omg hay gess wut
punkrox: ummm i dunno wut
mrdawg222: an asteroid will hit the earth on new yearz day
punkrox: omg i dont beleve it
mrdawg222: u must! beleve u, me!!!!11
punkrox: k, i beleve u. i will put an article up on the internet for all 2 see.
mrdawg222: k thnx, g2g bye
punkrox: cya

And so, after this, "punkrox" posted up an article for all to see that the asteroid will hit on New Year's Day... there's not much else to say.

Scientists are hoping to create a big laser cannon and blast the asteroid.

If you are all worried, just hide under your blanket or move to another planet.
