Default Who's your favorite character?

This was a hard choice for me because this is one of the few show where every character is great, but I'd say Lindsay is my favorite overall.

I agree there are alot of great characters on this show, but I've gotta go with Haverchuck. Sam is a close second, but Bill is the man!

Bill Haverchuck was a great character. It's always interesting to watch him in a scene because he's almost always doing something interesting and funny. I'm surprised that Martin Starr hasn't gotten more work. He showed a lot of range in the episode Dead Dogs And Gym Teachers. He was also good as a total different character in an episode of Undeclared.

Haverchuck was awsome!!!
But Lindsay was my favorite.
I so want the series on DVD, but it's really really expensive!
I loved Neil, Sam, and Daniel...damn it, I loved them all!

BILL.
something about him, his akwardness was so painfully real but beautiful.

that scene where hes sitting at home alone eating and watching tv and i think its an old gary shandling stand up and bills laughing and he kind of looks around for someone to laugh and identify with but hes alone.
and that song the one by the who is playing.
it just makes me cry everytime i see it.

i cant believe shows like this dont make it when i see some of the stuff that is on.

When shows are as well-written as this one, I find it difficult to choose to a favorite character. Lindsay, Sam, Kim Kelly, Bill, and everyone else all had something to offer. I can't pick just one! I think each of them had moments that made me laugh and cry.

Sometimes I think this show didn't make it because it struck such a chord with people. It really targeted that sense of vulnerability and awkwardness associated with growing up in a way that I think hit too close to home for some. Well, that and the fact that the network kept moving it around so viewers had no clue when it was on.

*I just ordered this on DVD and am so excited! I never got to see all of the eps because they kept changing its time slot. Finally, I'll get to see all of it.

One question I have about the DVD is whether it has the three unaired episodes or not? Does anyone know?

Yes, the dvd has all the episodes including the three unaired ones. It also has all the original music. I remember the show airing on Fox Family and they really butchered the show by putting generic music in place of Van Halen and all the other rock groups that were used originally. The producers really made it a point to get those great songs back for the dvd set. The extras are also great. Almost two commentary tracks for every episode.

......And then of course there's deleted scenes, TV promos, a panel discussion, photo galleries, behind the scenes featurettes, episode summaries, etc. etc. The Freaks and Geeks DVD sets are 2 of the best sets I've ever seen!

Well said!....Everyone in the main cast, all the supporting players, and even the extras, all had something great to offer. The casting for this show was one of the best ever essembled for TV, IMO.

I loved them all, but Kim Kelly, Lindsay, Sam, Bill, Daniel, Harris, and the parents were especially standout greats.
