Default The 2nd episode of 2005 in W&G's final season, "Partners" 1/12/2005

Will is up for partner at his law firm. His boss, Margot, invites the candidates for partner to a dinner at her house, where she will ultimately make the final decision. Will, who is worried that Vince will ruin his chances of getting the promotion, is reluctant to bring him as his date. Grace also attends Margot's dinner party under the pretense that Margot has set her up on a blind date. Once there, Grace realizes the blind date is with Margot's husband. Elsewhere, Rosario becomes sick and Karen refuses to believe she is really ill.

I am considering this the worst episode ever purely because Will and Vince broke up.

This is pretty awful, but despite the fact that I just watched this episode, I have almost forgotten what it was about, due to the fact that I am currently watching the repeat airing after it. Kristin Davis has me a mite mesmorized, I must say.

With the exception of "Queens For A Day," "Christmas Break," and "The Newlydreads," this season's episodes have had one strong storyline and a very poor subplot. This episode was no exception: The plot with Lilly Tomlin & Will was funny and well-written-- among the better storlines the show has had this season. However, the Rosario/Karen/Jack plot was terrible and really detracted from the show.

I agree that the writing has gone downhill this season. The show faltered a bit last season, but was thoroughly respectable (that episode with Mira Sorvino was about the best W&G episode ever)

I actually hope this is the last season. I'd prefer the show to end before the writing deteriorates even further.

BTW, I'm glad they're getting rid of Vince. I like the actor, but not the character...

Surprisingly... not a bad episode funny wise. I actually laughed out loud 4 or 5 times...and I had not done that since seeing the Mira Sorvino episode early last season. I especially laughed when Rosario had her face against the table and spoke in that LOW voice...."I'm sick!"

Will and Vince breaking up was a little confusing, though. Vince wanted to take a break from the relationship because he's STILL upset about losing his job? Either that was bad writing or I just didn't get it.

Who would have ever thought that Will would have a boyfriend longer than one episode? I guess we can take some kind of consulation in that.

The complete randomness about why Vince broke up with Will is part of what make it suck so much to begin with.

And second of all, Vince has helped breathe new life into this show. Now that he's (maybe) gone, I don't have much reason to continue watching, because this show has been going downhill almost to the point of unwatchability.

I missed this episode but I heard that he broke up with Will. I didn't like Vince so I hope they don't get back together.

Vince is cool, but the last couple episodes the writers have made him a little dorky and too crybabyish. What's up with that?

Well, despite the abruptness of Vince's departure from Will's life, however short-lived it may be, the fact that there was a change in the character of Vince, the lost job, the constant whining and crying, shows that there was at least some thought to a reason for the break up. It still came as a bit of a shock, but maybe it was supposed to. Hopefully, though, there will be some sort of resolution to this storyline, one that is at least halfway convincing.

Vince better come back in the season finale or something, similar to how Phoebe & Mike on Friends broke up in the middle of season 9 only to be reunited when the season ended, and for him to return the next season.

Hey guys, i recently just registered for this forum and i just hope i can add some good opinions and viewpoints about Will and Grace, which is my favorite show by the way.

Ok well in response to this episode I do agree, i really hope that Vince comes back to the show. He was a great addition and really made the show more enjoyable. I mean in all seven seasons Will has never had like a steady-long term boyfriend. Vince and Will made milestones in their relationships. Grace, Karen, and Jack all loved Vince, Vince's best friend Nadine approved of Will, Vince's family approved of Will, and yeah they overcame all those obstacles! Will's character seemed much more happier and content when he was with Vince, no more super whiney and needy attitude!

As for Vince's sudden whiney and crybaby attitude, you have to think about his character's position in life. I mean he got fired from several jobs and is just going through some hard times, you can't really blame him for showing some sign of weakness.

But yeah, i really hope Will and Vince get back together. I mean the way they broke up left some potential, i mean they said that they're taking a "break" which i know i know is what everyone says, but there really isn't any reason as to why they shouldn't get back together right? Ok i've ranted enough. laters guys!
