Default Can these two episodes be considered the Best eps because...

All the supporting characters and main characters were in the episode and the same scene. The episode Surprise Party and the only Christmas Episode had allof these characters in one scene

Surprise Party
Fred
Lamont
Bubba
Rollo
Donna
Grady
Esther

Christmas Episode
Fred
Lamont
Donna
Esther
Bubba
Rollo

Anyone Agree?

I thought "The Suprise Party" episode was excellent! The exchanges between Fred and Esther were priceless!! Also, the part where he was insulting Rollo and then giving out his cheap gifts (bunyon pads....airplane headphones...plastic wrapping..and a very cheap watch for Donna....eventhough the way he gave it to her with the empty box first had me laughing for days!) was great!

Fred: "M-I-S....I-S-S...M-O-U-S-E.....mississippi!"

Esther: (to Fred) "You just a messy fool!"
Fred: "You just a sessie pool!"

The Christmas episode was gastly to say the very least. It is one of the very select few episodes (along with that hideous Hawiiaan Connection trilogy) that i instanly turn off as soon as it comes on. The only part that remotely makes me laugh as at the very end where Fred is singing his song. The disgusted look on his face when he turns and looks at Esther was perfect.

Lamont: How much did you drink, anyway?
Fred: How deep is the ocean - how high is the s-k-yyyyyy...?

The surprise party was a classic. I wish all the supporting characters were in the entire episode rather than the first half.

I guess I'm one of the few who really LIKES the Christmas episode, "Ebenezer Sanford". I think it's hilarious how Fred reacts to each "spirit" that visits him(all played by Lamont). When the first one comes in, Fred looks him up and down and says, "Look here, I'll give you three dollars for them chains, two dollars for that outfit, and thirty seconds to get the hell out of my house!!!"

I also like when he goes with the ghost of Christmas Present to Esther's house. He says, "I would have come to her party if she invited me. I really would!"

SPIRIT: Out of love? Or to insult her?

FRED: BOTH. Because I LOVE to INSULT her . . ."

SPIRIT: Shhhh. Listen . . .

FRED: THANK you, spirit.

SPIRIT: For what?

FRED: For saying LISTEN and not LOOK!

SPIRIT: Come with me. We are going to travel on top of the clouds and above the stars in the sky.

FRED: Nuh-uh. I ain't smokin' that stuff . . .

I also liked when Fred sung the "Christmas Song" at the end of the episode

It was nice to see all the main and supporting characters in those episodes. The Surprise Party is one of the best episodes ever. I like the Christmas episode alot, but I wouldn't say it's one of the best though. Rated X and The Surprise Party are the two best episodes (IMO).

I think those are very good episodes, but the episode where "Big Money" Gripp tried to say that he was Lamont's father has to be one of the best.

I also think the episode where Fred and Bubba try, and may I add, succeed, in getting Fred's collection of Blind Melly Jelly records back. After he found out that he could get, no doubt, some money for them.

"I want my Daddy's records!" ..... lol

Yes all those episodes were great, but I can't pick 2 best episodes because there's too many great ones to pick from.

If there was an award for the funniest and greatest tv show of all time, it should go to Sanford and Son.
