My favorite Christmas memories were when my whole family was together and we'd spend the day opening presents, spending time together , and eating a great meal.

Sounds like Xmas Eve on my mom's side. We've never really done anything on my dad's side, since his family is so big and scattered over the US. This Xmas will be especially hard for my mom's side since my cousin that passed away last month was on that side. My maternal grandpa passed on nearly 10 years ago.

Hmm... up until I was around 10, my grandmother, "Gramma", used to come to our house every Christmas morning and open presents with us. She died January, 2000. God, I miss her so much... I was closer to her than anyone in my family. I still can't believe she's gone.

Christmas '02 when it snowed. It was so beautiful outside and we spent our first Christmas at my aunt's house. My uncle put on those classic Christmas movies like Rudolph, and A Christmas Story. And then we went downstairs in the basement to see my grandpa's old train set which was a surprise to my grandma and all of my mom's side of the family. Then at the end of the night my cousin and I went outside to build a snowman and pelt eachother with snowballs despite the fact that it was freezing and I was wearing very thin gloves.

Oh my gosh! One time when I was about 7 or 8 years old, my dad , dressed as Santa Claus, looked into our picture window as my brother and I were fighting. We saw him and I was terrified that we would not recieve any Christmas presents! We still did, of course! He did that every year ! ( this was in the 50's)
