"S and S" movie casting - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

If they ever made "Sanford and Son" into a movie, who do you think shouls play the characters? Here are my ideas: Actor's or actress's name, followed by the character:

Jason Bernard: Fred or Grady
Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding Jr., or another actor: Lamont
John Amos: Bubba
Whoopi Goldberg: Aunt Esther
Phylicia Rashad: Donna
Snoop Dog, Eddie Murphy, or Ice-T: Rollo

Malcolm Jamal Warner as Lamont, although malcolm would have to act unpleasant and not be his usual happy go lucky self. Warner and Demond Wilson have very similar mannersisms, talk similarly, speech patterns even the same type of physique- it's like Malcolm learned to act from studying Sanford and Son reruns or something.

Ohio8, I think Jason Bernard passed away a few years ago. Check IMDB.com. I could be wrong.

Jason Bernard did pass away: in October 1996, from a heart attack. Here are some more ideas............Theodore Wilson or Garrett Morris, and Jamie Foxx as Smitty and either of the Wilson twins (Luke and Owen) as Hoppy.
