A bit upset....please help if you can - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Why does a guy just stop talking to a girl? There's this guy i know,and for a long time we've been friends.Not great friends by any means,but he's forever been friendly with me,and never gave me any reason to think he hated me.We chat occassionally,but in recent weeks he's been very withdrawn,and i haven't done anything to provoke it.I was never attracted to him before,but now i REALLY like him and cant stop thinking about him.He doesn't talk to me anymore,and i get the impression that he suddenly dislikes me.I cant undertand him,and to make matters worse,i am really uncomfortable around him now,and i'm worried that he knows it,and thats why he's acting weird back.He doesn't even acknowledge my existence,and he looks at me when i'm not looking at him,and then when we do make eye contact,he looks away.What could be the problem here,and how do i approach him again?

I know a guy like that. We'd IM, and be on good terms, then he'd act like I said something insulting. And I haven't figured it out either...besides the blanket fact that men are jerks.
