Default The More I Watch LITB...

The more I admire Eddie Haskell. His rebelliousness and sarcasm are really cool!

Ken Osmond had, by far, the most challenging role on LITB, and he carried it off brilliantly. Of course everyone loves-to-hate Eddie, but I have a tremendous amount of respect for the enormous contribution he made to the show given the complexity of that character. Oh yeah, and he was really cute.

You are sure right crakker_jakk. His role was really complex because he was able to be nice and helpful to Beaver sometimes too. He really did deserve to be one of the main characters, as the show certainly wouldn't have been the same without him!

I loved Eddie and his wisecracking as well. Although I'm not physically attracted to him, I thought he added some spice to the show for sure. Also, if they would have crossed some lines in this show, he would have been one of the ring leaders for sure!

Yeah dropping out of school, getting his own apartment and all the stuff like that that he did was sure unlike Wally or Beaver. As was mentioned earlier though, his character was really "complex." Because along with doing all the daring stuff, he was also afraid to be home alone!

I think they made him afraid to stay home alone and certain other little things he did that showed him having his guard down somewhat was to show that even Eddie had his fears and other human emotions so it could make a person who didn't like Eddie actually feel sorry for him or at least have some compassion for him knowing that he didn't exactly have the "loving and happy" home that Wally and Beaver did.

I guess we all agree then that the show wouldn't be what it is without him. I think he was also the only friend of either of the boys who was in the whole run of the show.

It seems too like he was more outright mean in the early episodes, and now we are seeing more of the "sensitive" Eddie!

On tonight's episode it came out that he had been suspended 3 times, and wanted to drop out of school since 3rd Grade.

I admire him too!!! Okay, he was a creep and everything, but he was an individual, and that's a good thing! Also, if the cast of LITB was magically transported to the present...I think he might be the only one who would survive. He seemed to understand the real world better than anyone else.

Welcome back HaskellGirl! That is a very good point about the characters in today's world. I have thought about that a lot, and Wally and (especially) Beaver might not fare too well today. Eddie, however, would be right at home with hip hop music and our current culture!
