Well, Thomas Haden Church is officially a celebrity. Somebody dragged up a supposedly uncredited appearence by Thomas in the 1980 movie Gypsy Angels starring Vanna White.
This would make it that a 19-year-old Thomas was in the movie. The thing is that Thomas didn't officially start his TV and Movie career until 1988 with the little seen indepenent film Stolen Moments. It's SO little seen that IMDB doesn't list it. This is really a stumper. Did Thomas REALLY start his career in his late 20s or when he was merely 19? It all sounds funny to me. Then again, some people on IMDB tend to post false information. |

True, but this info wasn't released until early this morning or late yesterday. For quite a long time, that movie wasn't even listed in THC's filmography.
Just because somebody gave info on IMDB doesn't mean it's true. I think that it's a little funny because I don't even think that film making was on Thomas' mind back when he was 19. According to most bios and THC himself on numerous talk shows, he didn't get interested in acting until he was offered a acting job while working at a radio station during college. I think I might go ask The Question B!tch at the E!Online website. She seems to know a lot about stuff like this. Might it be that the person saw an extra and it just happened that he looked kind of like THC? I'd buy the movie from the Used and Out Of Print section of Barnes and Nobel's website, but I'm not going to risk $35 on a movie that may or may not have Thomas in it. I'd have better luck with one of those screener copies of To Protect and Surf that have been floating around on the internet because at least I know that Thomas is REALLY in it. I'll just wait for the movie to show up on television... if ever. I looked up the movie and supposedly, it was very unpopular. I'm sorry, but this info just doesn't seem legit to a Thomas Haden Church historian (Can I call myself that?) such as me. |

I know... I should just press the edit button, but I'm lazy with posting today.
Anyway, so they're suddenly saying that THC was in this film. They might as well say that he was an extra in the movie UHF as well. Don't get it? Near the end of the movie when Stanley gives his speech, there's a big croud shouting "NO!" and one dude in the center of the croud wearing yellow looks oddly like Thomas Haden Church with long hair . The only thing is that he looks almost how Thomas looked in Lone Star State of Mind. I'll have to pop my UHF DVD in the computer later and make a screengrab of the scene. |
