Default Blockbuster Video Doesn't Charge For Late Fees Anymore

I saw their new commercial where it says they aren't charging people for late fees anymore. I don't think that makes any sense cause then people will return the movies when they feel like it. What do ya'll think?

It's pretty deceiving, because I'm pretty sure you have to buy the movie if it's more than a week late.

Yeah i think it's deceiving too cause i know Blockbuster isn't gonna let people have movies out for a long time & not charge them for late fees.

I'd hope so. I mean, what would stop anyone from renting a movie for $3 and never giving it back? Not that I particularly care if Blockbuster loses money, especially if there isn't a catch.

Blockbuster charges $4.29 for new releases, not $3.

Either way you should get Dawsongirl's point. It doesn't really matter if it's $4.29 or $3.00

It's $2.49 for new releases at Blockbuster where you live Brent88? Damn you're lucky.

Yep, I'm looking at a reciept right now... you only get them for 2 nights though. Everything else is $1.99 for 5 nights.

The price varies from store to store. The Blockbuster near my school charges $4.99 for new releases, yet the one by my house charges $2.99. All other movies are $1.99 (the one by my house) and you get to keep them for 9 days, I believe.

Well, Since they dont have late fees anymore you may as well take them for 2 nights and bring them back in 5 nights.

I haven't been to Blockbuster in years but it sounds like they are like everyone else is facing stiff competition from Wal-mart, Circuit City, and Best Buy.
