Okay so no one knows what Jed and the others were looking at when Jed pointed off to the right as Jethro was driving(in the opening scene).... here's a hint in a form of a question....in the early days of the show what product was advertised as the sponsor of the show?

And now it's time to visit with the Clampett Family
As they take you to their mansion in the hills of Beverly. The folks who bring this homey visit to your TV set Are the folks who also bring to you Winston Cigarettes. Alternate Sponsor: And now it's time to visit with the Clampett Family As they learn the simple pleasures of the hills of Beverly- And that includes the products of our sponsor of the week; The best to you each morning-Kellogg's of Battlecreek! ------------------ Richard Ranke |

I remember the intro that would play to introduce the sponsor:
Now come along and visit with the Clampett family As they learn the pleasant customs of the hills of Beverly You can best one pleasant custom is enjoying breakfast too Cuz Kellogg's is our sponsor - Kellogg's best to you. (at this point, a Kellogg's billboard would come into view) This was probably the Canadian version of the Kellogg's verse mentioned previously (6 years ago ).

I like the Kelloggs commercial in which Jethro asks Jed about why Elly May doesn't "tall up" from eating corn flakes.

I remember Jed was pointing to an ad for a cigerette. I was very young but I remember a large sign for cigerettes.
I don't remember what cigerette. I guess it must have been Winston's from what others have said. |

yes, it was Winstons. The sponsor was The american tobbaco company, which makes them. They dropped their sponsorship of "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" & "THE FLINSTONES" when the dangers of smoking started to become known.
