I have about 200+ CompUSA 4x dvd-r's that isn't compatible with my burner and I'd like to trade them off. All but about 30 of them are still sealed in the original packaging. Returning to the store isn't an option 'cause I live in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on a 1/2 mile x 3 mile island and there isn't a CompUSA store within a 5 hr flight from here! I bought these at CompUSA last month in Hawaii and I can't use them. I'm looking for a trade - I'll send you blanks for your burned dvd - on a 5 to 1 ratio - make me an offer...'cause I'm pretty desperate to get rid of these. Please e'me at jordanandemy@hotmail.com if you would like to trade. I'll also sell these if anybody is interested. Thanks sharon jordanandemy@hotmail.com |

What kind of burner do you have?
Which comp brand? My liteon has no problem with comp. The Whitetops (made by princo) the silver tops I had problem with before. Not all just some. are asking 5 dvds for 1 dvd? I m little confused ...then again Im nuts anyways Did you try to burn at slower speed? What software are you using sharon. Sonic works well those discs. Nero, forget it. I couldnt get anywhere using nero. So I stuck with sonic recordnow . or are these r+ you trying to do disc with dvdreocrder? the comp 2.4x for the philips works well. For your dvdrecorder stick with imation , memorex, optodisc, ritek, and few others. I had no luck with brands such as prodisc for the dvdreocrder. 2.4x always seemed to work with best with it.

Hi Christina!
Nope - I'm asking for one burned dvd and I'll give ya 5 blanks. I've tried burning at a slower speed - at 2x. I have a TDK burner and it won't even recognize the dvd. I usually stick to TDK brand but I can only find those in +r's and I wanted -r's for my burner since most people seem to want -r's in trades. As far as my philip dvd recorder, it only records on +r's and after 11 months, I find out I've got a problem with the recorder - this is another story in itself I just burned TDK's a few days ago and ran out and that is when I discovered the CompUSA (their store brand media) isn't compatible with my TDK burner. Discs keep "finalizing" before they have even burned. For software, I discovered the "incompatibility" issue while using dvdXcopy Platinum. I've also tried to burn with Nero and Roxio and nothing works. When I put a CompUSA dvd in my burner and go to "My Computer" to see if the dvd recorder recognizes the disc - it doesn't. So, I have given up on these discs and ordered Maxells to use with my TDK (cause they are listed in the burner's instruction book). Now, since you (Christina) are here and reading my post I'll tell you what's up with my Philips dvdr80 recorder. I had been using TDK 4x dvd+r to record and thought all was well - UNTIL - I tried to burn a copy of a dvd I recorded. I got a "logical block address....(can't remember the rest) error. From what I could find on forums, it looks like my dvd "burner" or software is looking for the end of the disc and can't find it. I thought maybe it was bad media, or incompatible media - so, I tried to use the actual dvd+rw disc that came with the recorder. Well, guess what -I got the same error again. I then went to the Philips website and stumbled across instructions on how to run a diagnostic test on my recorder. I followed the instructions (very simple - unplug power cord, then while pressing "play," plug the unit back in. It will then come back with either "fail" or something else -can't remember. My came back with "fail" which, according to the Philips website, my recorder needs to be taken to a service department. Ugh! I've only owned this hunk of junk for 11 months! I called the service department at Philips, what a waste of time that is! The "girl" asked me "so, you want us to help you fix it?" Then, she gave me a phone number in Paris (yep, Paris France) to call so I can mail my recorder in for service. Needless to say, I now have a $428.00 dvd "player" 'cause I ain't mailing it to Paris So, back to my blank media I'm trying to unload, they are CompUSA (store brand) and I'll give you (anybody with a trade) 5 blanks if they will give me 1 with something (fairly desirable) on it. If you have something really good, like a whole series of something, I'll give 'em all away! Somebody e'me please, 'cause I hate to see 200+ blanks setting on a shelf! Thanks!!

I'll trade you for blanks for anything from my garage sale list: www.chezgrae.com/garagesale.html
Too bad about your Philips, I've gone through it myself. Love the reliability of my Panny tho' if you're looking for a recommendation. |

Well folks,
I've received a few offers, some sincere and some ridiculous and have decided to narrow down my request a bit for a trade. I would prefer to trade for a complete series of a show that is on dvd. It doesn't matter to me if it is on + or - r as long as it is complete, in order and good audio/video quality. I am only interested in sitcoms. I'll trade off the entire lot of 200+ dvds for one "good" series such as Drew Carey, McHale's Navy, Hogan's Heroes, Gilligan, I Dream of Jeannie, etc. For this trade, I'm not interested in bits and pieces of shows. I also cannot accept vhs because my vcrs are on their "proverbial" last leg and do not do well with homemade tapes. Please e'me if you have a complete series you would like to trade. Thanks!! sharon jordanandemy@hotmail.com |
