Why is it that Meredith Baxter was never nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy? She was so brilliant on the show, how could she have been overlooked?

I also think that Michael Gross should have been nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy, though he surely would have lost to three-time champ Michael J. Fox.

Other than MJF, the only other castmember to receive an Emmy nomination was the talented Justine Bateman, who lost the supporting race twice.

Michael Gross's acting was amazing on Family Ties, in my opinion, so he did deserve an Emmy. Same with Meredith Baxter.
