In the original "Josie" comics from the 1960s, Alexander Cabot bore more than a passing resemblance to the "Archie" series' Reggie Mantle(and his sister Alexandra was and is little more than a b*tchier version{if that's possible!} of Veronica Lodge). Why H-B felt the need to transform Alex into such a craven coward(complete with Casey Kasem's same vocal inflections used for Shaggy in "Scooby -Doo") is beyond me.

He was forced to voice them both when Josie and the gang appeared on Scooby-Doo.
