Which one to you prefer, Jennifer and her bevy of Christmas trees or Mr. Carlson's Christmas Carol fantasy.

Jennifer and her Christmas trees. I really liked how everybody came over to her apartment to keep her company because they thought she'd be lonely. It was a nice story.

I would say I like them equally.
Bah Humbug loses points for being mostly a fantasy (not one of my favorite devices) but gains points for the old WKRP flashback. Jennifer Home for Christmas was decent (I'm not a huge fan of Jennifer stories) but nothing special except for it is Christmas time and all the characters are involved. I am going to watch both these episodes soon, then I can better evaluate them with a fresh view. |

I have a question about the "Bah Humbug" Christmas episode.
This past Summer I was going through some old, unlabeled VHS tapes and came across this episode of WKRP recorded from the CBC's C band satellite feed sometime in the early to mid 1990s. The weird thing about this episode is the sound effects are missing. Les (I think, it's been a few months since I watched this) turns the volume up on the speaker in the office and there's no sound. Johnny plays a record but no music is heard. There were other instances where sounds should have been heard but weren't that I can't recall the details of right now. I can't imagine the episode originally aired this way but maybe it did in syndication, or perhaps the CBC was issued an incomplete show or the sound effects were on a different audio channel on the tape; I don't know what happened! Do your copies of this episode have sound effects, or was this the way the show actually aired? I think I'll pull the tape out and watch it again this holiday season! It's one of only two WKRP episodes that I have (wish I had taped them all). |

I love Jennifer's Home For Christmas and it's probably in my top ten favorite episodes...a nice ensemble episode, plus the good bits with Herb. The trees are great.
But the flashback in Bah Humbug is really neat!
