Anyone know what Jane Hathaway drove on the Beverly Hillbillies? I found a car for sale that claims to be the car from the show, but it doesn't look right. I know it was a convertible but that's about it.
Thanks! |

You can see Jane driving Mr. Drysdale in this red convertible in the later seasons' opening credits, after Raymond Bailey & Nancy Kulp were added to the credits.

I'm surprised no one brought up the fact that this thread's 14 years old!

It's cool to rehash old threads I think. If they are still on here, hey why not?

That picture looks like a 70 Challenger. I remember her driving an older Mopar in earlier episodes.

Not certain about the car from 1962 to about '66, '67; it may have been a 1962 Plymouth Fury?
However, I recall well the fantastic 1968 Dodge Coronet 500 that replaced it. My family's best friends, a married couple, bought the coupe version - light brown or tan metallic with a black vinyl roof cap. In one episode, Jane helps the hillbillies escape to the hills from Milburn Drysdale by letting them take her car - I can imagine Jethro climbing behind the wheel of that high-powered machine as though he'd just gotten it for a Christmas present! An episode in 1964 has Mark Goddard guest starring in a spiffy little '64 Plymouth Valiant. Although it was a Mopar show, occasionally some foreign cars would show up, which I thought was a nice touch. |
