Default Richard Pryor Show Volume 1

I rented this from Blockbuster Video last night. I watched some of it this morning. I like the skit where he's the president of the united states & he's being questioned by the media. Some white lady for a christian women's newspaper tells him that he's been photographed with white women romantically. She asked him is he gonna continue to date white women. Richard said as long as i can keep it up LOL. Then he said why do you think they call it the white house hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Blockbuster Video also has volume 2 of his show. I'm gonna rent that also cause i've never seen his show.

I didn't know John Weatherspoon, Tim Reid, Marsha Warfield, Robin Williams were on Richard Pryor's show. I can see why Richard's show got cancelled so quick cause it was very controversial from what i saw on the season 1 episodes.

I bought this a few months ago. It was real funny. He wasn't afraid to take on serious topics. I didn't know he was allowed to say some of the stuff he said in a variety show.

Ditto.

Paul Mooney was also on there.

I saw Paul Mooney on the skit where Richard went to a show to see Satin Doll played by Paula Kelly. I guess Richard was gonna propose marriage to her but it was too late cause Paul was her fiance. Richard was gone away too long in the military so i guess she decided to get another man. I could tell Richard was mad but he was trying to play it off like he wasn't mad she got another man LOL. You should check out Paul Mooney's standup Analyzing White America. It's funny as hell. All he does is dogg white people LOL. I rented it from Blockbuster Video last weekend. I think it's new. I wanna check out some more of his standups. He's a funny guy. You should've seen him at BET's Comedy Awards. He dissed Michael Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Condoleeza Rice, Cuba Gooding Jr, Michael Clarke Duncan. He gave Cuba & Michael Clarke Duncan a coon award hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

His standup is out...like on DVD?

I gotta pick that up!

Only a few black comedians can make making fun of white people actually funny and Dave Chappelle iand Paul Mooney are the only ones that do it right, IMO (well i've never seen Paul do it but I'm sure it's hilarious! )

Was that the only sketch that Paul was in on The Richard Pryor Show?

I saw him at the BET Comedy Awards, he was hilarious!

I hope he comes back for season 3 of Chappelle's Show!

That's the only sketch i saw Paul in on Richard Pryor's show. I haven't seen season 2 of Richard's show so i'm gonna have to rent that to see if Paul was on season 2. Yes Paul Mooney's Analyzing White America standup is on dvd at Blockbuster Video. Chris Rock is good at making fun of white people also in his standups. He did a standup this past summer called Never Scared. I rented that & it is so funny.

You mean volume 2, right?

There were only like 9 episodes or something of The Richard Pryor Show.

Yeah I know but you said season two, and there isn't any season two.

I knew you meant volume two. Just nitpicking.

Richard's show didn't have a season 2? I could've swore that's what i saw on the cover of the dvd. Well anyway on Paul Mooney's Analyzing White America standup, he said white people love Starbucks coffee. He said if blacks were to take over ownership of Starbucks, white people would stop going to Starbucks hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

@ Paul Mooney!

Not all white people love Starbucks...well at least not me. I hate it.

Nope, The Richard Pryor Show didn't have a 2nd season...the DVD must've said Volume 2.

The show only lasted for about (I think) 6 episode, or it might've been 9...I'm not sure but something short like that.

NBC thought it was too controversial, and it was at the "family hour" of television, up against Lavrine & Shirley and Happy Days and Richard Pryor was fighting with the censors...that's why it was cancelled.
