John Peel, the most infulential DJ on the BBC's Radio 1, died on October 25 at 65. He was famous for giving airplay to a lot of progressive and anti-mainstream rock bands that otherwise wouldn't have gotten on the radio. He will be missed.

John Peel did popular recorded interviews with artists in the 60's and 70's on the BBC known as The Peel Sessions.
