i've never heard "eeny meeny miny mo" and "my mother told me to choose the very best one" combined. i've always heard them separately.

i remember when my mom taught me the tiger one. i was trying to decide which pajamas to wear.

I learned a much more crude version of that ditty when was 5 years old. My parents, thank goodness, taught me not to use the word that our neighborhood friend used.

He said, "catch a ****** by it's toe. I was too young to know what that meant. My dad and mom understood that my brothers and I didn't know what we were saying. They spoke out of the window into the yard and gave us an alternative word to use. That is one of my more respectful and proud memories of my mon and dad being parents.

haha i was obsessed with flipping the bird in 2nd grade. i didn't know it was any worse than saying "shut up" or something and i'd always flip off my mom and laugh even though she kept telling me to stop. i had to sit in the time out desk at school one time because i drew a hand flipping the bird on the back of my paper. and i had a friend the year before that who would always tell people she was gonna "kick their ass."

when i was 8 i learned the word goddamn because some guy in tremors says it and i said it to my mom and she gasped and said "where did you learn that?!" and i asked her if it was a bad word and she said yeah.

We must have learned the same one Kitt! My parents never allowed us to use that word! This was the 50's, remember, so it was an accepted/normal thing by most people!

Ok, I'll enlighten everyone...........It was the "N" word! I am proud to say that my parents never allowed us to use that word!
