I love the "How many *******s have we got on this ship?" sequence.

Dark Helmet: Careful you idiot! I said across her nose, not up it!
Laser Gunner: Sorry sir! I'm doing my best!
Dark Helmet: Who made that man a gunner?
Major: I did sir. He's my cousin.
Dark Helmet: Who is he?
Colonel Sandurz: He's an ******* sir.
Dark Helmet: I know that! What's his name?
Colonel Sandurz: That is his name sir. *******, Major *******!
Dark Helmet: And his cousin?
Colonel Sandurz: He's an ******* too sir. Gunner's mate First Class Philip *******!
Dark Helmet: How many asholes do we have on this ship, anyway?
[Entire bridge crew stands up and raises a hand]
Entire Bridge Crew: Yo!
Dark Helmet: I knew it. I'm surrounded by *******s!
[Dark Helmet pulls his face shield down]
Dark Helmet: Keep firing, *******s!

Hated it the first time I saw it. Too predictable, I thought, with lame jokes.
But now I like it. For some reason.

MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THE WHOLE MOVIE - EVER.

I loooooooooooooooooove Spaceballs.

Another fave scene of mine is where, um...I haven't watched Spaceballs in a while...Col. Sanders? Something like that. He was peeing in an urinal and the TV that was above his urinal came on and then the lady on the screen looked down at his crotch and she smiled and then he realized what was going on and then he covered up his crotch.

I have the original 1987 VHS copy and the DVD. In fact, one of my first memories as a little kid in the 80's is watching Spaceballs...I remember seeing Pizza the Hutt in there and thinking to myself how gross he was.

From The Rumor Mill at The Digital Bits:

"Also expected to be released by MGM as special editions in the first half of 2005 are The Graduate and Spaceballs."

I like alot of Mel Brooks' movies and Spaceballs is no exception.
Pizza the Hutt was disgusting though!!

It has been a while since I've seen the whole movie, but isn't there a line in the movie that goes "She gives great helmet"? and I think Rick Moranis says it. I don't know why I always thought that line was humorous!

It would be kind of cool to see how the caraters are doing, now. Except for John Candy's carater, I wonder who would play him.
