Today I happened to be thinking about all the things that we take for granted that didn't even exist at the time of LITB. Computers (at least the way we know them), cell phones, MP 3 Players, email and Instant Messaging, and lots more that I can't think of were all not around then.
I wonder what the Cleavers would think of all this stuff we take for granted?

Microwave ovens, MP3 players, IPODs, DVDs, CDROMS, Surround Sound, video games, digital clocks and watches.....and the list goes on and on. Man, how did we live without all stuff back in the 60s? As a kid, I remember color television was a big deal! Only a few people had then, and we envied those that did. Lol!

Things have really changed. It is easy to always say the changes have been for the worse, but there are many positive things as well.

I think that we are living in a world that would be too complex for the old fashioned, classy Cleavers
I think that while some aspects are worse (many couples divorce, more bad people, less safety, etc) that there are an equal share of positives

I wonder how Wally and Beaver would cope as kids today. And, I wonder what it would be like to be a kid in their era?

I also think that Wally would adjust just fine and probably even Ward since he worked in an office but I think Beaver would have his usual problems. I for one think that technology has sort of gotten out of hand. I mean, who the heck "NEEDS" a phone that takes pictures? They certainly lived without all this crap we have nowdays and I bet we could too. There are some good points for computers but again people abuse it. I know this might sound silly to some of you but some of this technology actually creeps me out and it makes some people just plain lazy. I won't be a bit suprised if we eventually get automatic toilet paper to wipe our hind ends.

Yeah, I hate those things. Everyone I have used is way off and it flushes before I'm ready!

I try to avoid toilets like that. Come on, are people so lazy nowadays that the industry thinks we need an automatic flush?

Yes, I think that is part of it and the other part is that they will invent anything to make a buck.
I try to avoid public restrooms but I have a weak bladder.

I thought the main reason for automatic flush toilets is that there are so many stupid, inconsiderate people who don't flush in public restrooms.

Ok...I'll give ya that one and that is disgusting by the way!
But my gripe is that it flushes while I'm still on the seat! Now that is COLD...literally!
