Christmas Cheer for a Month in the Year from Cartoon Network
Christmas comes way early this year - on Dec. 3, in fact - as Cartoon Network fills almost the entire month of December with holiday programming. Holiday premieres will be telecast every Friday, and the merriment ends with a two-day marathon of Christmas-themed shows, beginning at 7 a.m. (ET, PT) on Friday, Dec. 24, and ending on Christmas Day, Saturday, Dec. 25, at 11 p.m. (ET, PT). The rest of the month will be stuffed with enough Christmas cheer to power Santa's sleigh, with four additional premieres of new holiday specials and the best old and new classics, including of course, the granddaddy of Christmas cartoons, Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Highlights of Cartoon Network's holiday programming schedule are as follows: (All times ET, PT) ED, EDD N EDDY'S JINGLE, JINGLE, JANGLE - Friday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT) Snow descends upon the eternal summerland of the cul-de-sac in the all-new, 30-minute holiday special Ed, Edd n Eddy's Jingle, Jingle, Jangle. Eddy's Christmas falls to pieces after he snoops around and discovers that all his soon-to-be gifts are socks, underwear and other clunkers. Eddy decides to take Santa's job into his own hands by attempting to get himself adopted into all of his friends' families, thereby siphoning off their Christmas payload. Eddy comes to learn about how his friends celebrate the holiday, while his best friends, Ed and Double-D, try to convince him that Christmas is about spreading cheer more than greed. Encore presentations: Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 9 a.m.; Thursday, Dec. 23, at 8:30 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 24, at 12 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 25, at 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. WHAT'S NEW SCOOBY DOO?: "HO! HO! HORRORS!" - Friday, Dec. 17, at 9 p.m. (ET, PT) Scooby and the gang are back in an all-new adventure in which they must spend the night in Winter Hollow, the snow-logged town terrorized by a headless snowman. The snowman, apparently the ghost of the robber Blackjack Brody, is scaring the townspeople out of their houses on Christmas Eve, the night of his untimely death many years ago. The gang must uncover the mystery of the headless snowman in order to bring Christmas back to the town. Encore presentations: Friday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 25, at 7:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. HOLIDAY PREMIERES ALL MONTH LONG There is simply no reason to go outside this December as Cartoon Network brings an awesome selection of Christmas premieres to television. I'm looking forward that special on Christmas Eve. Since i'm away, I will set up my DVR for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. ABC Family on the other hand is showing the "25 Days of Christmas", compilations of classic TV specials from the Rankin/Bass library. The two specials I have is "Smurfs' Christmas" and "Tis' the Season to Be Smurfy" both will be airing on Cartoon Network. For one thing, is DIC owns the rights to two Smurfs holiday specials? I looked it up in your post that the "Smurfs" will be returning to syndication starting in January as part of the DIC Kids Block. I'm also looking forward to see the TV specials that I've haven't watched for a while like "Yogi's First Christmas", "The Nutcracker Scoob" (an episode from the "NEW Scooby-Doo Mysteries"), and the other ones.
