Someone my husband knows asked him if he would sponsor his daughter in college. The guy isn't a personal friend. My husband's mother owns an Italian restaurant, and this guy leases it and has for the last 12 years. He's a nice, responsible guy, but not a personal friend. We eat at the restaurant often.
He and his family are from Chile and are not citizens. The daughter needs an American citizen to sponsor her to attend the University of Massachusetts. My husband is meeting him and his daughter tomorrow. I have no idea what sponsoring a foreign student entails. I'd like to help the girl out, but is there a financial or time commitment involved? My husband has a hard time saying no to people and he's been had before. Google turned up nothing. Anyone? |
