Default Black Men On The Down Low Episode

I saw this episode Saturday on USA network. I had never seen it before. The episode was about this gay white dude that was a attorney that got killed. Michael Beach who played in the movie Soul Food as Vanessa Williams husband was on this episode. His character worked with the gay white dude & he was friends with him. Michael & this white dude played poker together with 5 black dudes that were gay but they didn't let anybody know that cause they wanted people to think they weren't gay. Ice T found out from one of the black dudes that used to be a football player that they were having sex at these poker games with each other when they really weren't playing poker. They would get together every week to have sex & they didn't tell their girlfriends. Well the white gay dude had feelings for Michael & when he told Michael his feelings, Michael didn't feel the same way about him. So the white dude threatened Michael he was gonna tell people at their job about him having sex with these black men so before the white guy could do that, Michael killed him. Michael's wife was a attorney also & she had 2 kids by him. She didn't find out about what he was doing until the end of the episode.

Men who have sex with men & they don't tell their girlfriends is disgusting. How could you not tell your woman that you're having sex with men? If you're gonna do that, don't have a woman at all because your putting her life at risk cause you could give her a sexual disease.

I don't mean to make light of a serious subject, which I agree with you about but this particular episode has one of my favorite Ice T lines in it. When Fin is explaining to the rest of the squad what the down low is, they all start to look at him like how does he know so much about this topic and he gets the funniest look and says, "Not me, I just know stuff"! LOL Cracks me up every time I see it! LOL

That was funny when the squad was lookin at Ice T like what is down low hahahahahahahahahahahaha. There's a black guy who has a book out right now about black men being on the down low having sex with other men & not telling their girlfriends.

They should refer to themselves "as in denial" because that's what that are, in denial that they're gay!

Default Understanding the Down Low mentality

As Finn (Ice Cube) said in this episode of SVU that you are discussing. The black community frowns highly upon a black gay man. They are not accepted by their church and families. That is why these men do not identify with being gay. As the character that played DeShaun McGovern said. "I have relationships w/women...and sex with men." and he also said that you don't take condoms, because that would be to close to knowing why you were there.

It's sad, but it is out there, and is going on.

That is the #1 reason why black women are the #1 growing cases of HIV infections.

And you are all right, there is nothing more risky than people, men or women, who are in denial about what they are doing, if you are going to act a certain way, or participate in a certain lifestyle, the least you can do is admit it and take the precautions necessary to lessen the potential risks for everyone involved.
