Default Reasons why I hate the NBA

Sprewell saying he can't feed his family on 15 million.

Players jumping into the stands to attack fans

boring low scoring games

Iverson bitching and moaning about practicing

Kobe Bryant having the power to trade Shaq and fire Phil Jackson.

and so on and so on

It was that fans fault. Artest should have not gotten into the stands, but still it was the fan's fault. Low scoring games? The points have gone up this season, except for 2-3 games where the scores had both teams in the 60s. Kobe didn't fire Phil. There was no way anyone can fire Phil; he's a legend. He retired. Kobe probably had a lot to with Shaq being traded. But don't blame it all on Kobe; Shaq didn't like him either.

Players jumped into the stands to fight fans in baseball and hockey also.

In college football, a coach punched a player in the face of the opposing team in 1976

For some reason, a ticket makes some folks think they're entitled to change the course of an event.

Sadly one day someone will be seriously injured or killed in one of these athlete-fan altercations.

But what right does Artest have for going into the stands and hit people?? Let the law handle it. It's both parties fault. Artest was a coward for not taking on Wallace instead of some guy 1 foot shorter than him.
Phil retired because of Kobe. He is too selfish a player. He wants to be like Mike but Mike knew how to make players around him better. I can guarentee that Mike would have gotten along with Shaq just fine.
Shaq wanted to be trade because of Kobe. Back to the selfish player thing again. Hard to figure this out about Kobe. You have the most dominate force in the paint on your team and you don't want to play with him???? Shaq can make the game easy for anyone. Pass him the ball he either scores or he draws a double or triple team and he finds the open man. It's basketball 101.

Kobe is a fool because he was too stupid to realize how good he had it.

I understand that pro atheletes are supposed to be able to 'rise above'' the heckling and moronic actions of fans but this crossed the line and I side with the players. Those idiot fans more than deserved to have their faces caved in by a good, strong fist. When you pour a whole beer on a player, you pay the price.

Interesting list, Brian Damage. Let me also add the following:

* the NBA Players' Association filing grievances every time a player is suspended--I feel this is going to happen with Ron Artest sooner or later. I mean, come on! The league has got to put its foot down on such behavior!

* shoe contracts, shoe contracts, shoe contracts!

* mainstream sports publications hyping up some high school player, plus shoe companies jumping on his bandwagon. Have any of these said players become busts? (I remember there was talk of David Clyde, a baseball player in the 1970s, about the time LeBron James was drafted by the Cavs.)

One can also go to www.jumptheshark.com and see the comments for NBA on NBC for laughs. Since the NBA's contract with the Peacock network has expired, that entry has not had many comments as of late, if any at all. I have also looked at the comments of ESPN SportsCenter for reading satisfaction.

Reasons i'm starting to dislike the NBA is because players don't play defense anymore cause they're always floppin & taking a charge instead of blocking shots or stealing the ball. I also don't like NBA players who are money hungry when they're already making lots of money.
