Question College classes online

Have any of you taken classes online? I would like to, and I was wondering if any of you had, and what you thought about it.

I haven't. But I've heard good things about distance education. Many believe it is more effective than standard classes.

I've taken some of mine online. They're definitely more convenient. And my favorite part: NO ORAL PRESENTATIONS!!!

I'm in the process of signing up for my spring 2005 courses and I want to continue to maintain having Fridays off (like this semester). As a result, I might be taking one or two online classes. I'd like to know that, as well. It looks cool!

Not specifically. I am taking a class at www.pcdi.com now though. Well, once I get my course materials.

But in college, I took them all in class.

I took an online class last semester and it went fine. It was a lot of extra work, but I thought it was worth it. The only problem I had was that the teacher was not specific enough with her directions, so I'd have to continuously ask her what she meant. Other than that, I liked it.

My school offers some courses online, but I don't like taking those. I don't feel like I'm learning anything.

I know a couple of people who have taken college classes on-line. There's a lot more work and determination on your part. Since it's an on-line course and you don't have the teacher there nagging you, you have stay on top of everything. I want to take an on-line course; it sounds like a really cool idea.

I don't mind the reports, it's the presentations. They get easier, but I still feel like puking before I get up to give them.

The online classes require more time. We have online discussion forums we have to post on a certain number of times per week, but overall I think they're easier.

Back a few years ago my mom took 2 online classes for web designing. She took them through the community college in our area. She really liked them, and she didn't haveta leave us kiddies alone. Since then she's been making websites for people.

Thanks for all the info! It sounds like a good idea to me, but sadly, my computer isn't powerful enough to take the online classes!!!!! Everytime I get all excited to do something, my bubble gets burst.
