Any episode with Barney's wife or at Fish's home is my least favorite. This show worked best in the clausterphobic confines of the 12 Precinct offices. In my opinion, Barney Miller is one of the all-time underrated television shows.

Cool

I liked the episodes with Fish's wife. I loved the one at his house, because you got to see Dietrich and Fish, 2 of the best characters on the show, together, for an entire show. The episode that I hated was the one where Wojo has the hooker move in with him. It wasn't very good and Wojo was the only regular, no Dietrich, no Harris, no Yemana, no Levitt, not even the title character is in this episode.

Wojo's Girl, Part 2 was my least favorite
episode; in part 1, we at least got to see
Harris, Dietrich, Barney, and the usual
assortment of characters that file in and
out of the precinct.

I don't care for the ep with the bomb (the second episode). I'm also no fan of "Doomsday", except that Gregory Sierra looked even hotter than usual.

I didn't care too much for Barney's home life episodes, they just didn't seem that interesting.

The second season ep "Heat Wave" bothered me. Not the main plot (the guys dress in drag to catch rapists in the park), but the subplot. It involves a battered wife, and it seems the detectives don't take her (or her injuries) seriously. No way would they get away with that now!!

Unfortunately, both parts are in one on Shout's full-series DVD, so there's no way to skip that second part, AFAIK.

Hands down, "Possession".

Stefan Koepeknie is back, this time possessed by demons.

This is a shockingly bad episode. The "voices", the (not so) special effects, the writing...all pure fail.

Other stinkers are of course anything with Barbara Barrie, and anything filmed outside the 12th precinct.

"Call Girl" from the seventh season, although I cannot find the words to explain why.
