Angry Didya hear?

TVLand is gonna replace Green Acres and a lot of other great shows with poop like Baywatch and Highway to Heaven (no offense to fans of those shows)! Apparantly, TVLand is trying to go "modern"! How stupid is that!!! After all, their channel was created to show CLASSIC TV hits from like the 50's and 60's! DUH!!!

Default Say What???

That is SOOO stupid! TVland was made to keep the classics fresh in our lives and remind us of how life was back in the good old days. Why the freak do they want to replace the favorite shows of so many people with mess like Bay watch? I never even watched that show, and I'm 18 years old!!!

TV Land has been going downhill for quite a while now...they're putting on more and more modern stuff, and you all are right. TV land was Created to televise the great classic shows from the 50s 60s and 70s.

With shows like Baywatch and Highway to Heaven coming aboard, can the Anna Nicole show be far behind?

We've decided to just buy the DVDs from the great old shows, and have our own TV Land... it's gonna take a while for a lot of our favorite old shows from the 60s to be released, but we have no choice...

One good thing about TV Land getting so crappy...gives us more time to read a good book! I've done more reading these past few months, it's been great!

It doesn't really surprise me because Nick At Nite did the same thing. It was classic at night, now it's gone modern. It won't be long untill I unscribe to TVLand, I'll have my own classic network.

AMC has being doing that, too. They've started to show movies from the 80's and 90's and call them classics! Only TCM has stuck with it and shown real classics from the 20's through the 60's.

What's up with everybody?! Are they so concerned with ratings that they are forgetting that the only reason they started their channels in the first place was to remind people of simpler, better times?! Apparently so!!! Stupid, selfish, greedy people!!!

Can you tell I love to use smileys?! Anyways, I'm still mad!!!

I hate how TVLAND is showing more recent stuff. We want the classic 50's/60's & 70's stuff. Baywatch is way too new...

They need to create a separate channel for those modern shows. I hated when the Cartoon Network did that! I wanted to see the old cartoons WITH the violence in them!!!

TV Land is about the only channel that I watch at all. Honestly, I mainly spend my time watching my DVD's. Anyway, back to TV Land, they are beginning to really irritate me as well. It seems like they are showing more and more of these stupid Top Ten shows all the time. I mean if they showed them once, it would be alright but they seem like they play the same show numerous times during the week. These "original" programs are fine, but I don't tune into TV Land to watch those shows, I tune into TV Land to watch OLD TV SHOWS that I can't watch anywhere else----Green Acres, Bewitched, etc. I don't want "modern" shows, I want OLD shows. All I can say is: THANK GOODNESS FOR DVD SEASON SETS . . . . .

Signed,
Respectfully,
Dutch

TV Land should change their name . . . .

TV Land seriously should change their name to "Top Ten Land." That is all they seem to show anymore. I mean it would be fine if they showed one Top Ten show a week, that would be one thing, but they show the same episode over and over again. Last night for example---they showed the one Top Ten episode of tv stars to movie stars at 9:00PM our time. Then after that they showed the "Tickled Pink" episode. Well, then they repeated them at 1:00AM and they're going to repeat it again Friday evening at 8:00PM. So that right there is at least three times in, what, about 45 hours. I'm talking about the one specific "Tickled Pink" show that they will have shown that many times in slightly less than 48 hours. Plus when you consider the "60 Minutes" shows that they show and also those "Producers" shows that they show on Saturday mornings, etc. I for one just wish that they would go back to showing the classic televisision shows themselves. That's what I like to watch TV Land for. I'm getting sick of all their "original programming." They can keep their original programming . . . I want to see the original episodes of the shows I love.

Respectfully,
Dutch

Exactly...you folks are all hitting the nail right on the head...

We thought it was so cool when we finally got TV Land on our cable system back in about 1997 or 1998... and now, we hardly watch it... it was great on Saturday morning because they used to have a great line up of shows... now they have their stupid TV Land Moguls, repeated for the 500th time, and Alf, and ET in TV Land... just before they go into like 10 hours of Westerns... I mean, I'm a big Brady Bunch fan, and I used to watch a lot of the "Weekend Marathons" of my favorite shows, when they'd only run them occasionally... but even if I loved a show, there's no way I'd spend six hours every #(%^ Saturday watching it...

A whole lot of people out here in TV Land are upset with TV Land... and these top 10 shows, repeated ad nauseum... has TV Land not heard of a little invention called a VCR? I'm surprised that they're not running the Dick van Dyk reunion show 15 times this weekend...oooops, I'd better not give them any ideas...

I love Leave it to Beaver, for example... and I can't wait for it to be out on DVD... and I thought it was great when TV Land picked it up...but they show the same episode two or three times a day (I know the episodes they show at 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday are repeated at 9:30 that night...Eastern Time).... what's the point? There were 234 episodes made in this series... if they put two episodes on per day, it would take about 4 months before they had to even show a repeat... what would be the problem there...

Basically, we don't really watch TV Land anymore... I refuse to watch any of their idiotic original programming (don't even get me started on Farrah)... at the end of the 20th Century, we were Top 10 and Top 100'th to death with lists...

And grnacrsfan, you're right about AMC as well...I first saw AMC back in 1985 when I got a satelite dish...and it was great...but now, they put on all of these 80s and 90s movies, complete with 6 or 7 minutes of commercials at a time... no thanks... I'm going with DVDs

A few months ago, I started a thread i the "General Discussions" forum, called "Anyone Else Think TV Land is Going Downhill?"... I've never started a thread which got so many responses so quickly... a lot of people out there are disgusted with TV Land, believe me...it had 80 replies in less than a week.. Here's the link...

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...+land+downhill

As I write this, over on the General Discussions borad, there's a thread called " Top Ten Shows You would Like to see on TV Land Soon or in the near Future?"

My reply to that post follows:

<quote> I have a great idea for the staff at TV Land...

Why don't they do a Top Ten Show of our (the fans') top ten favorite shows (as opposed to 'favorite top ten shows')?

They could call it "The Top Ten SHows our few remaining fans want to see, but probably won't because we're too busy trying to come up with great original programming like Farrah's reality show and great stuff like that, so you fans might was well just wait till the DVDs come out because we no longer care what you think..."
<end of quote>

Actually, TV Land will probably do a "Top 10" show, in which they will rank the "Top Ten" shows that they've done... and count 'em down, from #10 to #1... won't that be exciting? ("coming in at # 7, is our 'Top 10 characters you love to hate'...and at #6 'Top 10 Loveable Losers')...

Anyway, that's what I think of TV Land... we don't need 'em any more, and they obviously think that they don't need us, either...

Today When I looked in the T.V. Guide I found out that they had completely replaced Green Acres with all of that junk like E.T. on T.V. Land. Honestly that was the most stupidest idea ever when they started replaceing great shows with their so called "classics".
