Default Joey and the Roadtrip 12/2/04

When one of the celebrity judges drops out of a beauty pageant in Las Vegas, Joey is called upon at the last minute to fill his spot. Gina and Alex decide they want to take a roadtrip with Joey so they decide to kidnap Michael from school and force him to join them. While at the casino, Michael reluctantly decides to teach Gina how to play blackjack using his math skills. Source: NBC

Feeling a bit bored and wanting to go crazy, Joey, Michael, and Gina, go on a roadtrip to Las Vegas! It seems it may be Michael's birthday. At a casino, both Joey and Gina try to teach Michael how to play blackjack. They are so bad at blackjack that Michael prefers going to the hotel room. They convince him to stay and play. Maybe Michael will teach them how to really play? Joey plays under an assume name and job (don't know why) and he seems to actually know how to play now as he made enough money to have the floor manager be interested in him. At this point Michael wants to stop playing. Alex, who seems to have decided to come to Vegas on her own, spots them and yells their names, which as the floor manager become suspicious because there is no Joey playing, there is a Mark. They are all brought in by security who thinks they were cheating. Michael tries to look and sound dumb so they are released.

Anybody see the previews for this episode? From what I've seen/heard of it, it's gonna be hilarious, a group episode similar to "Joey and the Party."

And Joey meets Bob Saget!

Hahaha, awesome.
This is a show that should use famous guest stars frequently.... as themselves.

I've been thinking that the whole time.

I've also thought they should do more on-location shooting, since the show takes place and is filmed in Los Angeles. Yet with a few exceptions, the characters never leave the apartment complex.

So far, so good.
Nice to see Bobbie DOES exist outside that office, although she's still my least favorite.

It was ok.
But too many of the jokes are still predictable.

It was good. The last scene where they all play dumb is probably one of the funniest scenes the show has done so far.

But I'm really starting to realize how mediocre this show is compared to Friends and Frasier. It's really all in the writing, because you can tell the cast is more than capable and doing the best they can with some of their lines. It's still a watchable, entertaining show, and I'd be upset to miss it, but I just hope it'll get better with age.

Not the worst, nor the best.

One thing I forgot to mention.

I was happy with the continuity of Bobbie having the hots for Michael. I was afraid it was gonna be just a throwaway gag for that one episode, and they'd forget all about it the next time Michael and Bobbie met.

And Alex mentioned her sister once again. I'll bet we'll be seeing her by February sweeps.
