I'm surprised they did that with all that's going on these days. I remember Nicollette Sheridan as Paige on Knot's Landing.

Default Who's your favorite NFL team and how long?

Mine is the Redskins. I know we suck. I been a fan since '81. From the Hogs, the Smurfs, Theisman, Williams, Rypien. I have to be loyal.

Here's an article taken from WNBC's website:

Quote:
ABC SORRY FOR STEAMY INTRO TO "MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL"

NEW YORK -- ABC apologized Tuesday for a steamy intro to "Monday Night Football" after receiving complaints from viewers and the National Football League.

The spot featured a supposedly naked Nicollette Sheridan (from "Knots Landing") jumping into the arms of Terrell Owens.

Before the game, ABC showed the actress and the Phladelphia Eagles star in an empty locker room in an attempt to spoof the network hit "Desperate Housewives." Sheridan, who stars in the show, was wearing only a towel and provocatively asked Ownes to skip the game for her.

After she dropped her towel, he smiled, agreed to be late for the contest and she jumped into his arms. Sheridan was shown only from behind and aboved the waist after she dropped the towel.

Then the shot cut to two more stars of "Desperate Housewives," Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman, watching the scene unfold on a television and commenting on desperate women.

"We have heard from many of our viewers about last night's MNF opening segment and we agree that the placement was inappropriate," ABC said. "We apologize."

The NFL called the intro "inappropriate and unsuitable for our 'Monday Night Football' audience."

"While ABC may have lost gained attention for one of its other shows, the NFL and its fans lost," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

The Eagles said they appreciated ABC apologizing for the segment.

"It is normal for teams to cooperate with ABC in the development of an opening for its broadcast," the team said. "After seeing the final piece, we wish it hadn't aired."

ABC has broadcast "Monday Night Football" with a 5-second delay this season, a precaution after Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at February's Super Bowl halftime show -- when Justin Timberlake ripped off part of Jackson's outfit, exposing her right breast to a TV audience of some 90 million. The game was broadcast on CBS, which is protesting a proposed record fine of $550,000 by the FCC.

I wish i would've seen Nicolette Sheridan drop her towel & jump into Terrell Owens arms. Nicolette is hot.

I saw where Tony Dungy said it was the race factor because it was Terrell Owens, a black athlete and Nicole being that she was white. T.O. celebrates a lot and that doesn't sit too well with the white media. They asked Lovie Smith from the Bears what he thinks, and he just said he saw an athlete and a celebrity, plain and simple.

I was listening to a local sports show in the Chicago area. They played where Tony talked about the incident. What is strange,if you go to the Indianapolis Colts website take a look at the photos on the cheerleaders they have on their site. OMG! I don't think Tony knows about the pictures.

My opinion of the promo was that it was stupid for them to think it would be passed off as cute and funny. I don't think they really believed that. They can't be that fat-headed. So, I guess they hedged their bets and hoped that the publicity it would garner for Monday Night Football, and that other ABC show, would outweigh the negative feedback.

Here is a sideline about this controversy that is truly alarming -- that is if you haven't been paying attention to how inane our main stream media is. If you have, then this next point will be no surprise to you. It will be just one more of a million black marks on how little homework the overpaid writers and pundits of the media do. The following is the latest example of what I'm talking about.

More than one mainstream pundit or writer rebutted the complaints issued by some Monday Night Football fans about how the promo was not what one wants to watch with their young children looking on. The pundits wrote or said that not many young children are up watching football at 9:00 PM.

Timezones, People! It is 6:00 PM on the west coast when it is 9:00 PM on the east! Monday Night Football is a live program.

I think this was all by design. After the half million dollar fine that was just handed down to CBS for the Janet Jackson fiasco, one would have be quite gullible to believe that ABC didn't realize the fallout this would cause. Like Kitt stated, they took a shot and figured the publicity was worth it. Thing is, it probably was.

LOL on the timezones. Gotta love that lamestream media.
