Default Ashlee Simpson's Fans Can Trade In CD

Ashlee Simpson's Fans Can Trade In CD

The Associated Press

NEW YORK - Given that it's been blown wide open that Ashlee Simpson lip-synchs, a New York group is offering her fans the chance to try what they feel is "real" music.

HOPE, or Horrified Observers of Pedestrian Entertainment, is giving people who bought Simpson's album the chance to turn it in for what it calls "one of a higher entertainment quality."

Fans who bring the disc to New York's Knitting Factory can trade it in for one by Elvis Costello, The Ramones, X, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell or Brian Wilson.

The 19-year-old singer was busted for a "Saturday Night Live" lip-synch gone awry, with her manager-father saying that his daughter used the extra help because acid reflux disease had made her voice hoarse. Joe Simpson added that she's never used the extra help before.

If you're not in New York, you can still get in on the deal by checking out www.HopeInAmerica.com.

Basically everyone lip-synchs now a day. It's a shame too many people don't know that.

Red face

Is Ashlee Simpson REALLY a total lip-sync-er through and through
or is that just a bunch of hype??

Or was it that she just got caught doing what 99% of what every other pop star does on t.v.?

Yeah, I'll trade in my "fakey" Ashlee Simpson CD for something of higher quality. I'll take the Slipknot CD, please.

I wish I lived in New York. I'd make a copy of my CD, hand it in, and grab that Ramones one

Even if Ashlee Simpson lip synchs I wonder who actually sings the songs on the album. I've heard of ghost writers, but I've never heard of ghost singers. I wonder if there are people who sing songs for "singers". It sounds stupid and takes away the concept of any kind of real art in terms of music. But, I just wonder if any person would resort to something that low to try to make it in the industry.

This next song is a song about death, and...how you shouldn't be afraid of it. Also, I wrote it on acid, so it should be pretty good..."
