Actually, nobody knows what Fred's middle name was. Here's what he said it stood for: "Gimme, gimme and I'm gone." "Giong to Heaven." "Gum." "Guadalcanal." "Grammy." "Gefilte fish." Lamont said it's for "Great father," and one of the crooks in the Hawaii episodes said it's for "Goonie bird."

Actually Redd Foxx named the character after his brother, who name was Fred G. Sanford, and he told Flip Wilson, when he was on his show back in 1971(I think) that the "G" was for Glenn...

There were so many "G" stands for. I acutall use to get mad when he said Fred. G. Sanford and didnt give any The G stands for. THere were a couple times. The "G" stands for were some classic moments along with his dacing and singing.

In the finale episode of the series, "School Daze" Fred says that the "G" stood for valedictorian. Hilarious!

"School Daze" is one of the few episodes i have not seen in season 6. I cannot wait till the 6 season comes out. I wish they would release it sooner more like around christmas instead of of Jan 25th.

In the "I Dream of Choo Choo Rabinowitz episode, the "G" he told the gentleman from the Guiness Book of World Records was "Grab yourself a seat"

And in the Hawaiian episode, the "G" was for "Greyhound"

OHIO when was the "G" for gum. I Must have missed that one. ANybody have the line for the "G" is for gum. IT may be in the 6th season i missed some of the eps from the 6th season. Cant wait for the DVD
