Default What was the big surprise on the AMA's?

Has anyone from the East coast seen the show yet?

What was the surprise that Dick Clark talked about, that would set everyone buzzing on Monday morning? 2

I heard Dick Clark on the Howard Stern show talking about that. He mentioned it would have something to do with the Twista/Kanye West performance. I don't remember if he already mentioned Jamie Foxx as well, but I can't imagine that would be the big thing. I was assuming it might be Luther Vandross since they sample one of his songs in the song "Slow Jams" but I really don't know what the big surprise was. I just caught a bit of it anyway. I recorded it, I haven't seen the entire show yet. It wasn't a priority for me since Prince didn't show up, since he got whupped by MissZero's boy.

Thanks Vashti!

I heard Dick Clark on with Howard too, but he wouldn't say anything other than it was a surprise.

Can't believe Prince lost. I guess today's music listeners don't appreciate real talent. Like last year when Michael McDonald lost to Justin Timberlake.

I expected it actually. Usher has had a big year, and if these awards are voted on by the public, I figured they'd pick Usher over Prince. It didn't really surprise me. I'll just hope for a better outcome for my guy at the Grammys.

You know her song, "I Try"? She goes, "I try to say goodbye but I choke." It's really "I try to not stay high but I toke."

nothing against him, but Jamie Foxx was hardly what I (or anyone else I talked to) was expecting. The way they kept hyping this surprise appearence by a huge superstar, I was thinking someone along the lines of Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Garth Brooks (in the country world, he is a definate superstar), or even a younger superstar like Justin Timberlake or Eminem. I like Foxx, but I wouldn't quite call him a superstar.

So it was Jaime Foxx? That's the surprise, Jaime Foxx!

Either Dick is getting old or I don't know what a surprise superstar is.

Thanks Buffy!

I know Jamie is quite popular these days, especially because of Ray, but the way they were hyping this huge unannounced superstar, I think most people were expecting someone a lot bigger.

Damn Straight! LOL, just playing....I like Prince too. I'm really glad Usher swept the awards, it's really been a huge year for him and that makes me really happy . The performances were off the hook especially: My Boo (so kickass), Karma (also kickass), Slow Jamz (didn't Jamie could really sing), What a Wonderful World (loved it), etc. Jimmy Kimmel was hysterical I was rollin. Anna Nicole Smith was drunk as hell I almost died (especially during the pre-show ). Fantasia's performance made me wanna kill my TV, t was horrible. I wonder though, how long will it be before Ush and Alicia admit that they're goin out? I mean for real did anyone else watch and think that they are? I think they are cute together

Biggest surprise?

That anyone watched a crapfest like that.

There are no music awards that mean a thing.

I have to agree with you. I only watched because someone on another chat site asked who the surprise guest was.

I guess because I'm older now, these shows seem so boring.

But I'm glad I got to see Kobe Bryant booed. That was great. Missed Anna Nicole. Macy Gray, I still cannot get over that moment. And the lady from Desperate House Wives in the low cut dress looked like a man. I was completely embarrased for Fantasia, if that is her best, she will not be around for long.

Glad I got to see the Beatles video. Wish I could turn back time.

I do think that the Grammy's should get Kimmel to host, he was funny.

All in all, I really don't pay any attention to the award shows anymore. This was the first time in a long time that I have watched.

I didn't watch the show, but I heard that after a rare clip of a Beatles performance (which Ringo Starr introduced) Jimmy Kimmel said "Boring" & the crowd booed him. I can't believe he would be dumb enough to call the Beatles boring AND say it on TV in front of millions of people. I was never a huge Beatles fan, but I would never call them "boring". Jimmy deserved to get booed for that remark.
