Any of you?
I'm probably the most rebellious teenager of them all. Why? Because I dared to do what no teenager dared: follow the rules and do everything my superiors wanted me to do. Uh huh, that's what I call rebellious! Not staying up late, not going to cool parties - I'll have none of that! I was going against the majority, dude. In this generation, GEEKS RULE. See? You can go a long way with a little logic and a little BS. (Where that takes you, however, I'm not sure.) |

Heelllll yeah, I'm right up there with ya, buddy. I'm afraid to even talk in a movie theater so I don't get yelled at. Pathetic. But I'm sensative and if someone says be quiet to me I'll probably cry. more PATHETIC.

My most rebellious time was when I was 12. I was a huge class clown.
And geeks do rule. |

I was Miss All-American as a teen. I never got into trouble, got good grades and did as I was told. I went a little wild in my 20s, but marriage put an end to that when I was 27.

My brother and sister were goody goody so i felt the need as the last child to be the rebellious one. I love it. I couldn't imagine any other kind of life.

My story is a bit complicated or contradictory. I've had rebellious thoughts since as long as I can remember, which dates back to about 5 years old. I liked school though. I got good grades and I excelled at sports. I did not like, trust, agree with, or conform to authority. I never trusted adults who were in positions of authority when I was kid, because they frequently seemed to be either dishonest or full of it. I was outspoken about that and acted on it. My opinion about authority figures hasn't changed. Some of you might have noticed that.

Hmm. Well.. up until 8th grade, I was wicked goody-goody. Did my homework, yadda yadda (except I did smoke cigarettes) but I basically just listened to everyone, despite my problems. Well 8th grade came and ***** just.. totally hit the fan. I got into everything that a teenager could possibly get into. Half of it was self-medicating due to depression and other disorder issues, and the other half was, well, just having fun. I was wild and out of control. I also had authority issues. I believed I could do whatever the **** I wanted because I was above everybody and everything, including the law. That got me in a few jams. But then I changed my ways through detox and rehab (unfortunately it came to that), extensive therapy (on top of my regular therapy) and with the help of one or two people in particular.
I've really shaped up compared to what I was last year. I still have my moments; I still look back and think "damn, I wish it was last year..." but then I realize that the stuff I had fun doing were the things that were ultimately going to kill me in the long run. As for authority, yes, I still have authority issues somewhat. I still have attitude problems that unfortunately have not been kicked out of me yet, but that will come in time and the right combination of meds that will also come in time. I realize that I wasted two years of my precious life being an ******* and making the most stupid decisions one could ever make and have narrowly avoided death once or twice... and to be honest, sometimes I still do make stupid decisions.. but I'm trying. |
