They didn't have a toilet becasue Mr. Brady was a mean, mean man. Oh, sure... he looked all friendly and helpful on the outside, but on the inside he was a tyrannical sadist who basked in his power by not allowing his family members to go to the bathroom. This is why the kids where always so happy to go on any trip... they finally got to use a bathroom!

The real reason is because the network thought that having a toilet in the Bradys' only bathroom would give the show a "bad image."

Personally, I think that a toilet is a MUCH better image than the image of some sadistic pervert who gets off on forcing children to become analy retentive!

Or instead of assuming people are mean (I won't give any names) you could assume that maybe people are curious! I mean people can be curious about things can they not?

Maybe they don't have a toilet because it is
just a 30 min. show and in those days they
were not allowed to show their bare ass on the stool! LOL!!

This thread needs someone with a little imagination.

The kindly Mr. Brady realized that one of his major challenges with his larger family would be contention for the bathrooms. After all, this can be a problem even in smaller families.

As part of his solution, he remodeled his house having the upstairs bathroom split into two rooms: a bathroom and a toilet room, each with its own sink.

We never see the toilet room in operation because it's a family show. But there was an episode where we heard it flush.

-and a running gag on All In The Family was hearing Archie flushing his toilet. How times change!!

Anyhow, this reminds me of an article about aliens observing earth through television. One of them reported,"No one is seen going to the bathroom or using money,so they must not exist on earth,"but another-who paid more attention to comercials, reported,"America is bathroom-obsessed and money-mad."

This is a stupid/dumb topic - may, I just add. It is also a gross topic - let's just drop the whole topic, okay?

Even though this is off-topic I thought I'd mention that is part of why I consider AITF to be an offensive show.
