What is your favorite T.J. Hooker character?

Mine is the title character. Even if I disagree with the way he
sometimes does the job, I can understand where he comes from.

Hooker is my favorite. I also like Stacey in addition to that.

My wife and I have been watching reruns over the past several months on FETV.
I like Romano's character and I think his absence in the fourth season was felt. Always seemed like someone was missing.
Not having done a ton of reading about the show, why was Captain Sheridan dropped into the background and eventually out of the series? Did Richard Herd decide to leave the show or was his character written out? I never thought he was in the way, and I always thought it was odd how the Captain Sheridan-Stacy father-daughter relationship was ignored 99 percent of the time.
