Default Episodes where I really hated Lamont.

He was my least favorite character on the show hands down. Here are the episodes where the devil came out of him and why I can't stand him.

The Barracuda: At the beginning of the episode he was bi-ching to Fred about why he dinner wasn't ready for him when he got off of work. A 30 something man needs his father to cook his meals? If I was Fred, I would told him to kiss my ass.

The Return of the Barracuda: He started that whole argument at dinner. Acted like a child. I didn't like how he treated Donna. She did nothing to him.

By the numbers: Fred won $600 and Mr. Bigmouth had to tell all Fred's friends and relatives that he had money. Fred ended up spreading the wealth until he was broke and robbed out the last $50 bucks.

Have gun, will sell: Him and Rollo made Fred pawn that gun for money. Fred didn't want to do it in the first place. So when he attempted and failed, Lamont blew up at Fred and blamed him for everything. I wasn't mad at Rollo.

Fred, Carol and Fred and Donna: He arranged a date where Donna and that woman Carol showed up at the same time. he did nothing but cause trouble.

Members of the wedding aka the engagement: Once again the trouble maker struck. Inviting Esther and the other relatives that Fred couldn't stand over. A fight nearly broke out, and Donna went away in tears.

This land is whose land?: Fred and Julio were at odds over property. Instead of Lamont taking up for his own father, he backs Julio. Damn benedict Arnold. It seems to me that Lamont hates Fred.

I hope I made my point clear. Anyone else agree?

He was also a jerk in the episode where Grady gets two social security checks. Since most of that money was going into the house (paying bills and buying groceries) he should have just kept his mouth shut.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those episodes. A chance for them to get over for a change and he wanted to be honest. Don't get me wrong, being honest is good, but sometimes it doesn't pay to be honest, literally and figurally speaking.

I did not like the way that Lamont was always patronzing his father, to me, it showed that Lamont did not have any respect for his own dad, whom, raised his only child alone without any support, you would had thought that Lamont would be more grateful, but instead he was arrogant and demeaning.

I liked the episode where that african princess Lamont was trying to get with, she put him in his place and told him he should have more respect for his father. It was about time somebody did that.

Fred: "Kalunda?? That name doesnt sound right for a junk
dealer. With a name like that you should be driving a
elephant..not a truck!"

Lamont acted childish in alot of eposides, but so did Fred. It just wouldnt be the same if each other wasnt always getting on the others nerves.

here's another one where lamont was a jerk. the one where junior cooper died. and fred and all his friends wanted to have a party with fast fannie and her girls. and he called fast fannie and told her a lie to come later so he could wear all of them out dancing and drinking so they couldnt have their party.

he'such a hypocrite look at all the partys he has had he actually had the nerve to try and forbid fred from having the party and fred told him FORBID MEE IS YOU A FOOL.

He was also kind of jerky in the episode where Fred gets rear ending by the stolen car. All Fred was trying to do was get some extra money (like no one has ever exaggerated a injury to get a little extra money...this is the cornerstone of most law firms today.) That new truck that Fred was trying to buy was like a Rolls Royce compared to his old truck; and Lamont would be the one driving it anyway.

Fred was definitely the fun Sanford in the family!

Default Lamont was the straight guy mostly

Yeah, Lamont was designed to mainly be the straight one, although he was clearly childish many times noted on this thread. In many of the instances on this thread he was trying to keep Fred out of trouble or doing something stupid. But Lamont loved his father (remember when he had his trip with Julio cancelled because he was worried about Fred?). Don't be too hard on Lamont. Fred ruined many of Lamont's dates and refused to allow him to have a party...

Yeah, but Lamont was too mean-spirited, especially in season 1.
