Since NBC pulled Father of the Pride for the November sweeps, it's a sign that the show is on the verge of cancellation. This is a show that's very ambitious, yet expensive and has an outstanding voice cast in John Goodman, Cheryl Hines, Carl Reiner, Orlando Jones and Danielle Harris.
However, since the show debuted as the number one show, ratings have tumbled by 47%. It's a sign that Father of the Pride could be gone after the final six episodes are shown in December. I really like the show. |

NBC hopes to solidify soft spots with 4 shows
Network executives say sweeps was 'good but not great,' resulting in changes to the lineup. By Andrew Wallenstein / Hollywood Reporter Particia Arquette plays Allison Dubios in "Medium," a new drama that will fill the network's 10 p.m. Monday slot. Comment on this story Send this story to a friend Get Home Delivery Pledging to improve its primetime performance, NBC has announced premiere dates for four midseason additions to its schedule. The new entries will cover the growing number of soft spots on the schedule at NBC, which is expected to tie ABC for second place behind CBS in the 18-49 demographic it routinely dominated in past November sweeps. The changes include "Medium," a drama that takes over the 10 p.m. Monday slot on Jan. 3, which was once inhabited by the canceled series "LAX," and the long-postponed unscripted series "The Contender," which premieres Feb. 21 in the 8 p.m. Tuesday slot. In a conference call with reporters, NBC Universal Television Group president Jeff Zucker characterized the network's sweep performance as "good but not great." He was joined by NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly, who cited a "robust pipeline" of upcoming programming as justification for his optimistic outlook for the 2004-05 season. Also coming to NBC next month is "Committed," a half-hour sitcom that will take over the 9:30 p.m. Tuesday slot currently inhabited by the slumping "Scrubs," which slides back to 9 p.m. "Scrubs" will inherit the slot once held by the canceled animated series "Father of the Pride." "Committed" premieres Jan. 4. "The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search" joins the schedule Jan. 5, assuming the 8 p.m. hour previously inhabited by the canceled drama "Hawaii." NBC also said that a live 90-minute finale of unscripted series "The Biggest Loser" will air Jan. 11. Among the midseason programming still waiting in the wings for a premiere date in the spring are the miniseries "Revelations" and the American adaptation of BBC hit "The Office." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- It's cancelled. |

"Father Of The Pride" was a big disappointment.
NBC had high hopes for it, but it fell flat. |
