I am a 20-year-old woman!

Yesterday, I had a callous on my foot, and peeled it off,(so I could save money by doing it myself instead of going to a beauty parlor to remove it) leaving me with a nasty wound. It bled like heck!

And the pain wasn't pretty either!

When my stepmom saw it, she gasped and was shocked She said, "I think it may be infected and that you will have to go to the emergency room and have it checked for infections".

She said, "I don't think I should leave you home alone anymore. I think you need a babysitter. I don't know what you were thinking when you did that by yourself." She even suggested that my little sisters take care of me!

That's a slap in the face! I am an adult! My dad said, "Maybe you don't need to go to the doctor. He checked it and said that it wasn't that bad. She cleaned the wound, put ointment on it, and bandaged it in sterile gauze. The next day(today) , she said that it was okay and most likely NOT infected. This morning, I had to walk around with the gauzed foot and wear shoes to go to school! But, back to my stepmom the reason she thought it might be infected was because yesterday it was wet and had pus on it. Today, it was dried. I don't think I will ever peel my callous again!

Well, tell your mom to look in the news paper..there's usually several 13-14 year-olds looking for a baby-sitting gig.
