Default interesting poster

I seen a poster at work with Wally and June on it and it read..."Gee Mrs. Cleaver, you look like you could be Wally's sister" and then it went on to talk about "sexual harrasment". I thought that it was quite interesting to say the least and thought that it could be a good topic. Thinking back, does anyone think that some of Eddie's comments to June on her appearance and her dresses and how good she looked in the apron could be construde as "sexual harrasment" by today's standards? He did seem to look at her sort of in a creepy way at times now that I think bout it.

I wouldn't consider it sexual harassment, since Eddie was a kid...and they didn't have sex in Mayfield.

But having said that, sometimes I DID notice some sorta weird tension between them...like when June thought Eddie smelled good...and this was back when he was only 14!

No I meant Eddie was the persuer. He just kept asking her if he looked good and then she said , why Eddie you smell good. Don't tell me you are already shaving. He always seemed to knock himself out to get June's approval. Let's face it, Eddie had it bad for June!

Yeah, I know what you meant. I don't know, sometimes he liked to insult her, in his own way. I think it was more just annoying than harrassment, but I guess it is a bit strange, huh?

Yeah I think in some ways he was degrading her because she was a woman which was probably very usual back then. Think about it, even Wally said she was just waiting for Ward to come and marry her, implying she was just a woman and wasn't a success in any way. I just like to think about those things and how different it is today.
