In tonight's "Mother's Helper" episode, I started to wonder about June's attitude toward Margie Manners. Do you think she just had Wally's best interests in mind by not wanting him to pay so much attention to her?
Or could it be that June really was a snob and didn't approve of it only because she was the cleaning woman's daughter?

No, I don't think her being the cleaning woman's daughter had anything to do with June's attempts at cornering Wally's interest in the girl. June was just concerned that Wally was getting too distracted with a female at his young age. Frankly, though, I thought she totally went overboard. I didn't think the episode was very realistic. I can see why Wally had a crush and it was completely natural that he would.
Anyway, no, I don't think June was being a snob. |

I felt that June did go overboard when Wally cut track practice and got a C- in English.

I feel that June definitely was a snob because in other episodes where she knew that the girl's parents belonged to the country club or whatever, it was fine for Wally to spend time with them.

The episode where she disapproved of the boys' friendship with the garbage man's sons was another example of her snobbishness!

She was raised by Aunt Martha. What do you expect?

The impression I always got from June's behavior in this episode was that she just wasn't ready to handle Wally's flirtation and interaction with girls. She seemed to try awfully hard to keep Wally and Beav seeming young that she didn't realize this was just a part of growing up.
I also didn't think she was snobbish in this particular episode. |
