I was wondering about a missing person case I saw on UM a long time ago? It dealt with the disappearance of two children. One of them was a boy who disappeared while on a camping trip with his parents. The second was a girl who disappeared while biking or walking along a highway. Sometime later someone saw a white van parked at a store. They found a photo laying next to van. It showed the same two kids that had disappeared laying down with tape over their mouths. The photo was published in one of the local papers. I remember seeing this same case profiled on America's Most Wanted also. Does anyone remember the names of the kids in this case? Did they ever find them or their kidnappers?

Tara Calico was the nineteen-year-old from New Mexico who disappeared on September 20, 1988 while on a bike ride.
There was some speculation that she was the girl shown bound and gagged in the infamous Polaroid (which was found in Port St. Joe, Florida in the summer of 1989). The boy was originally misidentified as Michael Henley, who disappeared while on a camping trip with his father in New Mexico about six months before Calico went missing. His body was found not too far from where he disappeared, so it seems pretty unlikely he was the boy in the Polaroid. The kidnappers have not been found, and the FBI has always been reluctant to positively identify the girl in the photo as Calico. There are quite a few pages about this case on the internet. I'm too lazy to look them up, so you do it. Justin |
