Has anybody seen this episode? And if you have, could you please give me your opinion on why TV Land won't play it.
I've seen it, and I find nothing wrong with it. It's a classic and funny episode! |

Hi,
This was asked on the board before. I am not sure of the title, it is eaither "Herman's Peace Offensive" or "Herman's Peace Offering." (I have seen it listed as both.) The story involves Eddie being bullied at school and Herman teaches him how to box. TV Land won't air it for political correct reasons: As I understand it, TV Land bought the whole series. But after Columbine and the other school shootings, TV Land refused to play the episode because it advocated violence. They were conserned that "Little Johnny might go to school and beat someone up because he saw it on TV." It's totally absurd. The problem is that TV Land is a sister station of Nick-at Nite. Nick-at-Night is under must-carry status for cable and satalite systems. This means that unless parents use a channel block device on some cable/dish systems, any little 4-5 year old kid could watch programs on a must-carry station that parents don't want them to see. TV Land is also now on most cable/dish systems and caters to "family entertainment." I can't understand, using this logic, how they can allow a show like All in the Family to air. (although edited like all TV Land shows) and not a funny little sitcom like an episode of The Munsters. The only way you will be able to see this episode is to look for a syndicated station copy, or wait for Season 2 to come out on DVD. Jack |

What is it even about?! I've seen all of the Munster episodes @ some point in my life except that 1! TVLand said they disapproved of something Herman did in it, but I don't know what.
